When J & S were young, they tended to sleepwalk. It was like a sideshow every night! Since I was the eldest and got to stay up later, I usually got to see them perform. They would come all the way down the stairs and "perform" different rituals. This usually happened independent of each other thank goodness! I remember J walking around the coffee table over and over in circles. It was all I could do to keep from laughing aloud. Mom said we couldn't wake them up or something bad would happen. She usually just let them do their thing and then jump in at one of the turns and lead them back to bed without talking to them. One night J even left the house in the middle of the night and went to a neighbor's front door to ask if Kenny could come out and play. Pitch black outside and everyone asleep. We got him back safely but that was in the old days--things are different now...

My brothers were born in late 1959 (J) and fall of 1961 (S), so they were only 20 months apart and tended to fight a lot. The eldest picked on the youngest quite often and Mom used to say, "You just wait, one day he is going to catch up to you and be bigger than you!" J would just laugh and keep picking on S. Today J is about 5'7" and S is 6'--- listen to your mother...more tidbits below...

My brothers dressed for judo class-we still lived in the "paddies" here and had a very small yard. Our address was F-16 Sun Heights-not too far from the main gate at Yokota AFB. This was about 1966.
My brothers were continually getting hurt! If it wasn't a splinter or sprain or scrape, one of them was falling down the stairs! I don't know if they were trying to fly or what but we were always rushing off to the emergency room for one or the other of them--we didn't mind hospitals too much back then --we were so used to shots because of our many overseas moves, that it was just part of life to have to go to the doctor. Poor Mom had to round up 5 kids quickly to fly down the road. We were fortunate it was in the days when Mom was always home as she didn't have to work-WE were her job.
When J first walked, Mom was out shopping and one of our Aunts or Dad were watching us. He was the first born son and Mom knew he was getting close to walking and she was right! She came in the door and saw him take the last of 14 steps backwards! He never stopped after that! I'm not sure, but I suspect he was a pretty fast runner in school-he is very strong and compact--we never really tried to find out as I am 4 1/2 years older and was always big for my age so he probably couldn't outrun me until he got into his teens and by then I was grown and gone
I was SO protective of my siblings-when I was 6 years old, there were 4 of us and then one more when I was 9; so at age 9 I had a sister 61/2, a brother 5, a brother 3 1/2 and a new baby sister. Lots of responsibility for a young girl. I loved every minute of it looking back, but at the time there were things that didn't seem fair to me. I remember beating up on kids that picked on my brothers and sisters who were older than me-I was like a lioness -- of course it was okay for me to pick on them, just not anyone else.
Today, J works for a large company and lives in New Jersey with his wife and 2 daughters. S has one son and one daughter and is in the Coast Guard in Michigan.
