(JOFUS) -- Officials are looking into a claim by Spears' agent that long "conversations" with "the boss" contributed to Britney's knee trauma.

The pop sensation has cancelled her North American tour after having knee surgery last week.  Her knee gave out while filming a music video in New York.

Spears has been experiencing these knee problems for several months now but doctor's have been stumped.

It was not until Spears' agent made a connection between the amount of time Britney had been discussing her contract with the new boss and her increasing knee pain.

At the agent's request Spears saw a orthopedic expert Dr. Hanz Jobbs.  Although results are inclusive, Dr. Jobbs believes that this kind of trauma can only be caused by excessive amounts of kneeling.

"Imagine kneeling in church for several hours or running on your knees for a mile," Dr. Jobbs explains.

Britney's agent has reported several long conversations that have slowed production on the upcoming video that also seem to sap Spears' strength.

The president of Jive records, Louis Slacks, was unavailable for comment.  In a related story Justin Timberlake has released a statement wishing Britney well and demanding to know "where she learned to do that."
