Hunter Valley wineries are known world wide for excellence. I can say that as I've talked to people all over and they had heard and agreed that the wine made here is wonderful. I had to try to develop a taste for wine before my arrival and as it was suggested I tried Chardonnay. I did several times over in flight and found I liked it... or maybe it went well with flight*s* While on holiday it was also noted that when drinking wine with evening tea my voice goes higher and I was extremely agreeable so I guess there are medicinal purposes met as I relaxed and enjoyed my travel. But I was ready to try a variety while here to let no sacrificed grape go without proper respect given and tribute paid. I felt like the postman as we tried to enter the area... as we were in a hail storm so bad that we had to pull to the side. The rain pouring so much it washed the red dirt over the road, then after a fine meal we were to test our ability to survive the gloom of night as we had a black out lasted for several hours.

Following the hail storm at the resort I gazed skyward feeling very small in such an immense world. I knew the days were numbered before my return and that gave such a great sadness as I felt my life was written in stone and that my total dreams would never be realized. That my dreams are not a part of the plan and my hearts desire was to go unanswered. I tried to rest but with the storm sleep was not to be mine either as I sat outside watching the night go by.

The tour guide was great and had a very informative speech and answered questions and told some tall tales. She was explaining the difference in grapes for the different wines here. I hadn't studied much on this, perhaps it will be a good subject to study deeper the next time.

Brian looks quite serious as he appears to stand guard over the wine barrels. Friar Tuck would be proud of his gallant efforts! Actually I asked him to stand there it seemed to be a photo op, turned lucky for a lady who lost her bracelet though, as he was standing about waiting and looking he spotted it and turned it in. The woman was quite relieved and more than likely had the clasp fixed.

After the winetasting I located Brian he didn't sample the wine as he was driving, did I mention he is responsible? But we did go for breakfast and coffee following the sampling, seems I relaxed and found my appetite and maybe the world would be just fine in the New Year. I guess it's not for me to understand everything as much as I want to. Sometimes I just have to trust.

Following the winetasting and making a purchase of several souvenir bottles I was quite happy and relaxed. I still don't care for red wine, but the whites had several types that I found appealing. Ahhh just thinking about it I think I heard my voice get higher... *s*
