1
¶And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 See, I have called by
name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:
3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in
understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,
4 To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in
brass, 5 And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of
timber, to work in all manner of workmanship. 6 And I, behold, I
have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe
of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put
wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee; 7 The
tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony, and
the mercy seat that is thereupon, and all the furniture of the tabernacle,
8 And the table and his furniture, and the pure candlestick with
all his furniture, and the altar of incense, 9 And the altar of
burnt offering with all his furniture, and the laver and his foot,
10 And the cloths of service, and the holy garments for Aaron the
priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest's
office, 11 And the anointing oil, and sweet incense for the holy
place: according to all that I have commanded thee shall they do.
12 ¶And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 13 Speak thou also unto
the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep:
for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations;
that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you. 14 Ye
shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every
one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever
doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his
people. 15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the
sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the
sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. 16 Wherefore the children
of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout
their generations, for a perpetual covenant. 17 It is a sign between
me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD
made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was
refreshed. 18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of
communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables
of stone, written with the finger of God.

1 ¶And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of
the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and
said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as
for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt,
we wot not what is become of him. 2 And Aaron said unto them, Break
off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of
your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me. 3 And
all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their
ears, and brought them unto Aaron. 4 And he received them at their
hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it
a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which
brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 5 And when Aaron saw it,
he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said,
To morrow is a feast to the LORD. 6 And they rose up early on the
morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings;
and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.
7 ¶And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people,
which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:
8 They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded
them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it,
and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel,
which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 9 And the LORD
said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked
people: 10 Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot
against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee
a great nation. 11 And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said,
LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou
hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and
with a mighty hand? 12 Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and
say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains,
and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce
wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people. 13 Remember Abraham,
Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own
self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars
of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto
your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever. 14 And the LORD repented
of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.
15 ¶And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two
tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written
on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they
written. 16 And the tables were the work of God, and the writing
was the writing of God, graven upon the tables. 17 And when Joshua
heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said unto Moses,
There is a noise of war in the camp. 18 And he said, It is not the
voice of them that shout for mastery, neither is it the voice of
them that cry for being overcome: but the noise of them that sing
do I hear. 19 And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto
the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses' anger
waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them
beneath the mount. 20 And he took the calf which they had made,
and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it
upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.
21 ¶And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that
thou hast brought so great a sin upon them? 22 And Aaron said, Let
not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that
they are set on mischief. 23 For they said unto me, Make us gods,
which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought
us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
24 And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break
it off. So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there
came out this calf. 25 And when Moses saw that the people were naked;
(for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:)
26 Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on
the LORD'S side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi
gathered themselves together unto him. 27 And he said unto them,
Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his
side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and
slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every
man his neighbour. 28 And the children of Levi did according to
the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three
thousand men. 29 For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves to day
to the LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother;
that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.
30 ¶And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the
people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the
LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin. 31 And
Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned
a great sin, and have made them gods of gold. 32 Yet now, if thou
wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out
of thy book which thou hast written. 33 And the LORD said unto Moses,
Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.
34 Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have
spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless
in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them. 35 And
the LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron
made.

1 ¶ I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth
will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations. 2 For I have
said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou
establish in the very heavens. 3 I have made a covenant with my
chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant, 4 Thy seed will I establish
for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.
5 ¶And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness
also in the congregation of the saints. 6 For who in the heaven
can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty
can be likened unto the LORD? 7 God is greatly to be feared in the
assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that
are about him. 8 O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like
unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee? 9 Thou rulest
the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest
them. 10 Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain;
thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm. 11 The heavens
are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness
thereof, thou hast founded them. 12 The north and the south thou
hast created them: Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in thy name. 13
Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right
hand. 14 Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne:
mercy and truth shall go before thy face.
15 ¶Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall
walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance. 16 In thy name shall
they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be
exalted. 17 For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy
favour our horn shall be exalted. 18 For the LORD is our defence;
and the Holy One of Israel is our king.
19 ¶Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have
laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out
of the people. 20 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil
have I anointed him: 21 With whom my hand shall be established:
mine arm also shall strengthen him. 22 The enemy shall not exact
upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him. 23 And I will beat
down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him. 24
But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name
shall his horn be exalted. 25 I will set his hand also in the sea,
and his right hand in the rivers. 26 He shall cry unto me, Thou
art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation. 27 Also I will
make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth. 28 My
mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand
fast with him. 29 His seed also will I make to endure for ever,
and his throne as the days of heaven. 30 If his children forsake
my law, and walk not in my judgments; 31 If they break my statutes,
and keep not my commandments; 32 Then will I visit their transgression
with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes. 33 Nevertheless my
lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness
to fail. 34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that
is gone out of my lips. 35 Once have I sworn by my holiness that
I will not lie unto David. 36 His seed shall endure for ever, and
his throne as the sun before me. 37 It shall be established for
ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.
38 ¶But thou hast cast off and abhorred, thou hast been wroth with
thine anointed. 39 Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant:
thou hast profaned his crown by casting it to the ground. 40 Thou
hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds
to ruin. 41 All that pass by the way spoil him: he is a reproach
to his neighbours. 42 Thou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries;
thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice. 43 Thou hast also turned
the edge of his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.
44 Thou hast made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to
the ground. 45 The days of his youth hast thou shortened: thou hast
covered him with shame. Selah. 46 How long, LORD? wilt thou hide
thyself for ever? shall thy wrath burn like fire? 47 Remember how
short my time is: wherefore hast thou made all men in vain? 48 What
man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver
his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah. 49 Lord, where are thy
former lovingkindnesses, which thou swarest unto David in thy truth?
50 Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; how I do bear in
my bosom the reproach of all the mighty people; 51 Wherewith thine
enemies have reproached, O LORD; wherewith they have reproached
the footsteps of thine anointed. 52 Blessed be the LORD for evermore.
Amen, and Amen.

Corinthians 2

1 ¶Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will
of God, and Sosthenes our brother, 2 Unto the church of God which
is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called
to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of
Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: 3 Grace be unto you,
and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which
is given you by Jesus Christ; 5 That in every thing ye are enriched
by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; 6 Even as the testimony
of Christ was confirmed in you: 7 So that ye come behind in no gift;
waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: 8 Who shall also
confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of
our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called
unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
10 ¶Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions
among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same
mind and in the same judgment. 11 For it hath been declared unto
me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe,
that there are contentions among you. 12 Now this I say, that every
one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas;
and I of Christ. 13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you?
or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
14 ¶I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. 16
And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know
not whether I baptized any other.
17 ¶For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel:
not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made
of none effect. 18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that
perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power
of God. 19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20 Where
is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this
world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For
after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God,
it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that
believe. 22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after
wisdom: 23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock,
and unto the Greeks foolishness; 24 But unto them which are called,
both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of
God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the
weakness of God is stronger than men. 26 For ye see your calling,
brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty,
not many noble, are called: 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things
of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak
things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28
And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath
God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things
that are: 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. 30 But
of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom,
and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31 That,
according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the
Lord.

Corinthians 1
|
|
1 ¶And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency
of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ,
and him crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear,
and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching was not
with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the
Spirit and of power: 5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom
of men, but in the power of God.
6 ¶Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not
the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that
come to nought: 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even
the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our
glory: 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they
known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But
as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have
entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared
for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by
his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things
of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit
of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man,
but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of
the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the
things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also
we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which
the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of
God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them,
because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he that is spiritual
judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16 For who
hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we
have the mind of Christ.
