Still Reading:
Geek Love ~ Katherine Dunn.
Listening to: Nothing at the moment. I think I'm about burned out on Creed (finally?!) I did find some Cure tabs...and now that I've got new strings on my acoustic guitar...whoo hoo!!
Sheesh. My subconscious had a field day on that last entry and I didn't even catch it. No wonder I was so into Creed. :::_insert much eye rolling here_:::
Perhaps an idea for a story...
There are stories about the cycles of the year, and how the fertility of the world is replenished. Many of these stories involve the eternal goddess and her god, who is reborn year after year.
The wheel has turned and the goddess approaches cronehood again. She is now known as Hecate, Kali, perhaps even as Azrael. She is terrifying. She is death personified.
Autumn is coming. It has been a good year, my love. Are you ready, my darling? You know what has to happen. It is a sacred act, you know. How else would the world ~ how would I ~ be rejuvenated?
Well, maybe I can work with that. I'll let it sit a while and perk.
Ah...tomorrow is the second day of the Fall semester. Parking is so messed up on that campus, if you get a spot, you'd better hang on to it all day. So I get to walk. Friday was interesting ~ I walked a half mile to a voice class that only meets on Monday and Wednesday. A half mile to that class, a quarter mile (or thereabouts) to my world civ class...by the end of the semester, I'll be in pretty good shape, as long as I remember to drink plenty of water.
Last semester, when I finished my first algebra assignment in twenty minutes, I convinced myself that I must have done it wrong and completely redid it. I've already gotten completely mental over that world civ class. The assignment was to read the preface, intro and first chapter of one of the books as well as a handout and fill out a 'student survey.' What did I do? I started reading...and highlighting...and taking notes...and asking questions...and doing every little assignment at the beginning of the essays...AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! It was five hours later that it occurred to me that the operative word was 'read.'
Why the hell do I do stuff like this?? Sheesh! It's not like the information will automatically self destruct in five seconds or something. Why do I have to know every little single thing?
Still, it was interesting reading. The stuff I'm interested in is usually covered in the first day or so and never mentioned again. The attitude is usually, "how do you talk about the origins of the universe and the origins of the human race for very long when there are all those civilizations and cultures to cover?"
Where do you think all those cultures and civilizations came from? They had to be built on something. Maybe I'm just a nerd, being interested in beginnings (HA!! I keep thinking about Q and his 'little puddles of goo.')

O.k. I admit it. I am a sucker for online personality tests. I have taken a ton of them. One of these days, I'll get the pages up with all the results. Heh! Here is the latest one: Magical Personality Quiz
Your Q Score is: 4
The Q score ideally should be as small as possible, indicating maximum agreement among elements. However, even a tiny Q score may not mean
optimal functioning, since all four elements may in fact be relatively undeveloped.
Your Primary Mythical Creature:
Air Types
The main strength of the Air types is intellect. The second element indicates the most probable focus for this intellectual activity.
Pegasus
Air and Earth
Astrologically associated with Libra and the Seventh House
Pegasus types are theorists who aim to achieve in reality what they conceive with the
mind. They are perfectionists who strive to produce order from what they regard as
the chaos around them. They detest disorder and ugliness and have a particular flair
for creating beautiful surroundings in which to live. They can be highly original and
possibly eccentric. They are curious and open-minded but will require convincing
evidence to back up ideas. They show exceptional organizational ability. Although
they are among the least outgoing of the types they are very concerned with
promoting social harmony. Their ability to be objective and impartial makes them
popular as fair-minded arbiters of disputes. They are extremely independent and can
seem emotionally distant.
Your Shadow Creature:
Fire Types
All the Fire types have problems relating to anger and aggression. The weakest element indicates the main focus of these problems.
Wyvern
Fire and Water
This shadow is both insensitive and hypersensitive. They are
unsociable, emotionally illiterate, and mean-minded. Relations with
others are characterized by conflict and calculated reprisals. Passive
aggression is used to full effect. These types seem to dislike other
people. They are plagued by powerful emotional undercurrents and
they blame their discomfort on others. They appear cold; their
emotional expression, when it is given vent, seems immature. They
exhibit a sense of entitlement and do not think that they should have to
earn what they get. They are poorly motivated and prone to bitterness.
The biggest obstacle of weak Water is to overcome insensitivity and
alienation; the biggest obstacle of weak Fire is to overcome anger and
aggression.
Note from the Firewolf: HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!! I don't think I'm emotionally illiterate and mean-minded...however, I'll freely admit that to ninety nine percent of humanity, I am unsociable. I think that's all I say about that.
O.k., it's time for this kid to get to bed. It's been a long day.
