God, how long has it been? I haven't updated the page in such a long time. I should apologize if there is anyone who has continued to check up on the site only to be disappointed by my lack of motivation... It's strange how things work when you don't have much direction for yourself or your endeavors.
I'll introduce myself to anyone who doesn't already know me. Hi! My name is David Nicholas and this is my official website. It was originally created to help spread the word about my musical releases and performances. Over the course of the past few months I've written and recorded some music that holds an awful lot of personal meaning for me and for some other people I know. I feel priveleged to be able to do something that touches other people, that makes it possible for me to convey my emotions through this musical medium so that others can understand and enjoy what I'm trying to say. For anyone who has listened to me ramble, has seen me perform live or heard my recordings, and who has generally loaned their support I want to show my most sincere appreciation...
It's just such a strange life. We're told so many things through the course of our upbringings... We're supposed to succeed, to make such a rousing SUCCESS out of whatever we do with our time. Of course that means that we're supposed to find a way to make as much money as possible so that we might be able to buy an entire mountain of meaningless things to show to our friends and family to show just how successful we've truly been. My message is simply this: Success is really a personal concept. To me success means that I have felt good about the decisions I've made and that I've gotten the desired results from my actions. I feel the most successful when I sing a song and feel goosebumps rising along my skin, and especially when I see that other people are getting the same experience. Tears of joy make me feel successful. Feeling my throat close up because I'm so proud of or inspired by something, feeling like I will either cry or scream, is my idea of being successful. I want to feel my life happening, not just receive the reminders based on how many hours I've logged in at work. Again, I'm rambling here but this is my idea of what it means to strive towards something. I want to communicate, I want to share my thoughts and feelings with others who will understand and appreciate what we can share.

I think that life is capable of bringing such joy, but with that must come the understanding that the mirror image of misery is always within striking distance. Why not take a new approach to life? What do we have to lose? It's been said a million times, but I feel that it is in our best interests to grab handfuls of life and experience everything we can while we have time. I am afraid of spiders but, lately, I touch one every chance I get. I want to test every boundary, to challenge every perception, to just LIVE and take the experiences with me wherever I find myself. Sing your song, say exactly what you feel needs to be said, don't be afraid of failure or embarrasment anymore... what do you have to lose?
