Hardware - The Various Iterations
There have been 7 iterations of the Xbox 360. At the launch in 2005 there were 2 versions available. These were the 360 core pack and the 360 Premium, both white in colour.
The core pack (picture left) included 1 month Xbox Live, composite cable, power cable and a wired controller. The Premium (picture right) included a wireless controller, 1 month Xbox Live, ethernet cable, remote control, power cable, composite cable and component cable (necessary for HD output).The main difference between the two was that included with the premium edition was a 20GB Hard-drive, and this can be purchased separately for £70. Both Core and Premium editions did not include a HDMI connector but from June 2007 all premium systems had this connection.
In August 2007 the 360 Elite was launched. The Elite (right) has a matt black finish. This pack includes a 120GB Hard-drive, 1 black wireless controller, wired headset, 1 month Xbox Live, ethernet cable, HDMI cable, component cable, composite cable and power cable.
