VII. You Shall Not Commit Adultery.



"You shall not commit adultery" "..., the sanctity of the marriage vow is tested fundamentally -- and preserved" (Pinsky, 94) I will agree with Pinsky on this one but I am not sure if he realizes that Homer does have a second wife in Las Vegas. Homer does commit adultery and we are lead to believe that Marge does not know about it. Homer almost does it again with Mindy, a girl form his work.
He goes away with her, for work, and is unsure about what to do with regards to sleeping with her. But in the end we see him and Marge in the hotel room, so I guess Pinsky gets it right when he say that "Yet after ten years of marriage, they appear to have a healthy and loving union,..." (Pinsky, 87)
