"You shall not misuse the Name of the Lord your God". Although we do not actually hear Homer swearing on the show, we do know that he used to have a swear jar and that it contained a lot of money.
Enough to buy a dog house and beer. I must assume that a man who swears this much will eventually use the Lords name in vain. To be literal, he does actually "Misuse" the Lords name
when he is a missionary and he says "I don't even believe in Jebus". I doesn't even know the name of his God. "...Homer is even hazier on the nature of Jesus and Christianity than he is about God" (Pinsky, 22)
