| 113. Dead Things (Thanks to Lea for the Episode Guide.) Spikes Crypt is shown with broken furniture scattered about. Spike and Buffy appear from beneath a rug and, while naked, they talk about decorating. The conversation soon becomes more serious! Spike asks Buffy if she even likes him, to which she answers 'Sometimes' and if she trusts him, while pulling out a pair of handcuffs, her answer is 'Never!'. Andrew and Jonathan fight over living together, as Warren finishes his cerebral dampener with which they will be able to control women. Tara visits Buffy at the Doublemeat Palace and Buffy (who is surreptitiously rubbing her wrists) asks her to check out the spell they used to bring her back, because she thinks that something may have gone wrong, as Spike can hit her. At a bar Warren scopes out a woman to use his dampener on, while Andrew and Jonathan argue in the van. Warren picks Katrina, his ex-girlfriend to experiment on and see if she will do what he wants. Dawn spends the night with a friend and Buffy and the others go to the Bronze. Meanwhile, at their place, Warren has Katrina dressed in a French maid outfit serving drinks to Jonathan, Andrew and himself. They discuss who gets to have sex with her first and Warren says he does. Alone with Warren, Katrina suddenly snaps out of the trance while on her knees in front of him and they argue and fight. She storms into the main room and accuses them all of rape and tries to leave. Warren hits her with a bottle and she dies. The three guys are stunned and Warren decides to frame Buffy for Katrinas death. At the Bronze Buffy and Spike have conversation and sex on the balcony, whilst watching Willow, Xander and Anya on the dancefloor below. Later, Buffy patrols and stops at the door to Spikes crypt. She lingers there for a few seconds, with her hand pressed to the door, while on the other side Spike senses her prescence and mimics her hands actions against the door. When he comes outside she has gone. Buffy gets into a fight with three demons and is confused when they keep appearing and disappearing, while Spike also appears and disappears. Jonathan, disguised as Katrina, lets Buffy hit him and then rolls down a hill to where Katrinas body is hidden. Buffy finds Katrina's body and thinks she killed her and she and Spike argue. He sends her home but later, after some disturbing dreams, featuring Spike and Katrina,(both of whom she kills in her dream,) she makes her way to the police station to turn herself in. Spike waylays her and tries to prevent her from going, pointing out to her that all the good that she has done. Buffy will not be disuaded and Spike allows her to vent her feelings by beating him savagely. She leaves him lying in the alleyway as she goes to turn herself in. In the police station Buffy is ready to confess until she hears the womans name and remembers that Katrina is Warrens ex-girlfriend, She realises that he probably had something to do with her death. Later, Buffy tells the gang what has happened, while Warren tells Andrew and Jonathan that they have gotten away with murder. Tara tells Buffy that she did not come back wrong and Spike can hit her because of something small, on a molecular level, like a sunburn but that shes not messed up. Buffy weeps and confesses to Tara about her and Spike's relationship. |
