posted. And today I noticed Kevin is back on track. And, best yet - I'm still alive! My completion photos are scheduled for May 23rd! It would be a wonderful personal tribute for me not only to meet you and Porter but also shake both of your hands at the Body for LIFE for You Convention! What a fantastic way to say thank-you and to celebrate my new life. Thanks again.
Day 56 - Sunday April 22/01 - My Day 55 routine! Treadmill! 520 cals! Unbelieveable work-out for many, many reasons. I can't explain the emotion right now. It's just really, really good. I was sick, body was 1/2-OD'd on a non-EAS Creatine and I had to switch Day 55 with Day 56. When I went to do this, there was no Day 55 in my binder. I wasn't supposed to be here. But, I am - and I made a new personal High Point of 9.5 mph. This is truly unbelieveable. Thank-you God! After this work-out I went to the can at the gym and cried. I don't know why - I was happy, I guess. And somewhere inside, a deep little voice mockingly said, "Did you By-Pass The Adversity!?" I just laughed with my eyes full of tears. Unbelieveable - but I did it! This was a major hurdle to overcome. I have a feeling I'm going to be mentally stronger from here on in - because of today's victory!
11:20 pm - I woke up in the night and I knew I'd already won! I was a winner. I had beaten my personal adversity. It was gonna be easy from here on in. No longer did I have to occupy my mind with thoughts of whether I would make it or not. Would I be able to By-Pass The Adversity? It didn't matter anymore. Right now at this moment I knew that any personal adversity could be beaten. I didn't have to look for it anymore in each day. Instead, I could enthusiastically look forward to finding the High Point in every day! I laughed, got up, looked in the mirror and laughed again - "I know that I've already won!" What a tremendous feeling to conquer your own personal hell. To hell with adversity! I'm to relentlessly search out the High Point of every single day! What a trip - what a fantastic accomplishment! I wrote this down, smiled and went back to bed. It didn't matter if I'd win the Challenge. I'd already won back the joy of living!! I already knew that I was also ready for these last 4 weeks and that my next Treadmill would probably be (6, 7, 8, 9) x 3, then 6, 7, 8, 9, 10!! How's that for insight?! I smiled at my new-found cockiness!!
Day 64 - Monday April 30/01 - Go For Glory! Mentally Tough Intensity! Welcome High Points With A Smile! I wrote those words on every page this week. Work-out had good intensity! Went for glory! Could hardly handle some of the dumbbell weights :-) but did all exercises with mentally tough intensity! Need to welcome those Hight Points with an even bigger smile next time! :-) Enjoyable, but tough (good) work-out!
Day 78 - Monday May 14/01 - Online, in the Body-for-LIFE Guest Book, I wrote:
My final week! Wow! I am really amazed with myself! This has been an incredible, beginning of my new life! Thank-you again Bill, Muscle Media, Patrick Gilmer, Porter Freeman, (Lynn your Chunky Chicken Minestrone's wonderful), and Upper 49th Imports. But, I also need to set something straight from my Day 55 entry into this Body-for-LIFE guest book. At that time, many of you will remember that I issued a Creatine Monohydrate Warning! At that time, through Patrick Gilmer's e-mail inadvertently directing me to Porter Freeman's page on finallyfit.net and then onto vital info on the Nutritional Supplements website, I was able to find the wisdom required to stop using a loading phase of Creatine Monohydrate which could have shut down both of my kidneys. I rested and flushed with lots of water for the week-end, if you recall... But, I need to tell you what I did after that! This is exciting! I did not go back to the pure Creatine Monohydrate I had been using from a non-EAS source. Instead, I started using BETAGEN and PHOSPHAGEN HP. Both of these EAS products contain Creatine Monohydrate "plus" something that helps your body absorb and utilize it. They know what they're doing at EAS! I've had absolutely no side-effects from BETAGEN or PHOSPHAGEN HP from Day 57 to now! They're great products! Don't settle for substitutes or imitations! I used a full scoop of Betagen in 2 out of 3 of my daily shakes, and a 1/2-scoopful of Phosphagen HP in those shakes as well. Thank-you EAS and Reid Bozak - you can send me EAS info anytime! My advice to BFLer's: Be sensitive to your particular body. Research supplements you're considering taking. Know the danger signs. Trust EAS supplements! Drink plenty of water! And hey - I'm really excited about the Spring Into Fitness - Body For LIFE 4 You Convention in Orlando! My flight is confirmed from Toronto and would you believe it - I'll be staying at the HIGH POINT World Resort! Is that cool or what? Keep going! Every work-out counts, every hour contains a new high point! Gotta go do my work-out! Life is so cool now! Every adversity was worth it! See y'all soon eh? :-)
As for my work-out: Yes! Yes! Yes! Bang on work-out intensity! Gotta like it! Psyched myself out by setting standards the same as Day 50 - then surpassing them in the actual work-out! Gotta love it!
Day 82 - Friday May 18/01 - Excellent Lower Body Work-out! Enjoyed the additional extras I planned into this one. Thanks Muscle Media! (I used the Thigh Squeeze Machine, also from June 2001 Muscle Media - 2-15 reps Power Breathing page 52, 2-15 reps Turbo-Charged Janda Sit Up page 53, and 2-15 reps Swiss Ball Stretch Crunches page 54).
Day 83 - Saturday May 19/01 - Treadmill. 705 cals. but it wasn't easy! I stopped after my first set to refocus and review my goals. The music at the gym was non-supportive for a good Cardio Workout. It was more conducive to shopping! I left the gym to buy a Sony Walkman. I like NRG, but their music is inconsistent and frankly I was frustrated that they only cater to some members requests, have only 2 Radio Stations to choose from, yet play high energy music for their own Aerobic Classes and their own programs. Unfortunately, gyms cater to the majority and not to those fully dedicated in going all out! But as for music, World Gym in Toronto has more intense work-out and Cardio music than any Oshawa gym. And from what transpired at NRG, they are proud of their members but not all that supportive of Bill's Body-for-LIFE program for which I highly respect and recommend. It is for Champions and it is intense! I wish NRG carried Body-for-LIFE and more EAS products - but they don't, even though I've suggested this to them. Buying the walkman freed me from looking towards someone else's averages again! The High Points are within yourself! I'm sticking with a winning |
