| 2. I never worked out with Free Weights before. 3. I never worked out my lower body before. 4. I am too tall. Lean muscle on me will make me look thin. 5. Our family history includes wide hips. I won't be able to achieve that small butt look. 6. I have a weak right elbow from recent past work-related injuries. 7. I have a fused vertebrae in my lower back. - Start using free weights and the progressive High Point Technique found within the Body-for-LIFE program. - Follow the Training-for-LIFE Experience Principles and use the 36 effective weight-training exercises found within Body-for-LIFE. - Stretch daily. - Totally focus on proper technique. Tell myself there is no room for even 1 screw-up with free weights. - Increase my weights very reasonably. Don't overdo anything. Reach High Points not Exhaust Points. - Research EAS new supplements articles in Muscle Media. SOCIAL: 1. I am constantly fighting religious, political and corporate battles for equal justice and equal dignity from oppression found within many unrefined Alpha-Apish power structures. Some have become more Omega-Manish as a result of enlightenment and the fact that we're all worthy of respect and equal dignity and are in some way a vital part of upgrading family and community relations upon this planet. More awareness is necessary and the struggle is still ongoing... - The only battle I need for the next 12-weeks will be within myself, to conquer my inner weaknesses. I need to keep my focus on building a better me first. - I need to stay away from substance abuse and give this Body-for-LIFE a fair chance, my total concentration and effort. - Go online to the Body-for-LIFE Guest Book and meet my new community and offer support where needed. WEATHER: 1. The winter of 2000-2001 is extremely long, cold, miserable and conducive to depression. There are no lovely weather experiences for this neck of the woods. I would have to battle this as well as my own inner weak mentality. - Tan regulary. - Think positive affirmations. - Stick to my work-out routines no matter what the weather was doing or how it makes me feel. - Play only upbeat music in my car and at home for the next 12-weeks. TIME: 1. My life has it's regular routines. Working full time for 25 years has played it's toll on my body. I would have to schedule time very tightly and stick to that schedule religiously, if I was not to miss a single day. This wouldn't be easy due to shift work demands and changes in shifts, in addition to other commitments and activities. - Mentally dedicate myself to not missing a single day of work-outs. - Rework my Weekly Appointments to make time for Body-for-LIFE. This will also work for the Holidays & Special Days that would fall within my Body-for-LIFE plan. - Time manage as if I were a military commander. - Make several meals all at once. - Grocery shop Sunday's after church. HOLIDAYS & SPECIAL DAYS: 1. The period of 12-weeks that I was about to devote to Bill's Body-for-LIFE program (Monday February 26th to Sunday May 20th) contained the following days that could distract me from my final gains... - March 2001 - I had volunteered to canvass for the Kidney Foundation. - March 2001 - I had to create a brochure and meeting structure for the Good Coffee & Books Club, a community outreach program Faith United had approved from my Plan of Action I had submitted in January. - Tuesday March 6th - date set aside for my first wave of Kidney Foundation canvassing. - Tuesday March 15th - date set aside for printing and folding brochures. - Saturday March 17th - my friend Craig's Wedding. - Tuesday March 20th - my second canvassing wave for the Kidney Foundation. - Saturday March 24th - my friend Jay's annual Wine & Cheese which I had committed to. - Tuesday March 27th - renew my Health Card & Drivers License because my birthday's approaching. - Wednesday March 28th - 1st Good Coffee & Books Club meeting. - Tuesday March 29th - finish canvassing for Kidney Foundation; 1st Choral Reading Practice - I landed the part of Jesus :-) - Wednesday April 4th - 2nd Good Coffee & Books Club meeting. - Thursday April 5th - 2nd Choral Reading Practice. - Saturday April 7th - Final Choral Reading Practice. - Thursday April 12th - My 46th birthday - invited out to dinner and Mamma Mia by my friend Peter. - Good Friday April 13th - Drama Practice (I'm looking after the Sound Booth) at church. - Wednesday April 25th - 3rd Good Coffee & Books Club meeting. - Wednesday May 2nd - 4th Good Coffe & Books Club meeting. - Tuesday May 8th - start a refined menu and final supplement phase of BFL. - Wednesday May 9th - gardening at the church AND mom's flower gardens worked and planted. - Thursday May 10th - visited my friend Dahya who just had triple by-pass surgery. So, to best suit my situation, to keep my motivation, enthusiasm and intensity high, and to counter these 17+ obstacles (because I knew I would be in for more - especially in the mental realm) My Action Plan more specifically included: |
