| The Dalton Elementary School was built in 1959. Although used for over four decades to educate elementary students, it is currently being used for specialized learning. Dalton's students are bussed to Lancaster School, Whitefield School, and White Mountains Regional High Schools, all of which are within the same school district. |

| DID YOU KNOW... ...at one time, Dalton had 9 one-room schoolhouses in operation? Teachers boarded at the homes of their students. School was only held a few weeks each year. Sometimes, the teacher was a teenager, no older than some of his or her students. |
