| CEMETERIES Cushman Cemetery Johns River Cemetery Ladd Cemetery The Historical Society has indexed many of the names on the stones in the three cemeteries, and will someday have them in a database for quick reference. Digital photographs have also been taken of all gravestones in Ladd and Johns River Cemeteries, and the old section of Cushman. Both the Cushman and Johns River Cemeteries are located on Route 135, which is the main route through town. Ladd Cemetery is located on Faraway Road. At the annual Town Meeting on March 9, 2004, voters agreed to appropriate monies to the "reconstruction of the old section of the Cushman Cemetery". The area of immediate concern was the uneven ground covering the graves that have been there since the early 1800's. The landscaping has since been improved, and is once again being mowed. |
