SEARCH ENGINES If you are quite satisfied with the outcome of your efforts you can start submitting your site to the various search engines. Yahoo, Google, Lycos, Rediff etc. are the common search engines. All search engines have a link where you can submit your site. They ask for information like your email address, site URL (this is the site address like www.geocities.com), keywords and a descriptions. Fill in all the required material and your site is entered in their database. There are premium options wherein you can pay and get registered for a fast action. Usually by the normal route it will take upto 2-3 months before your site gets noticed. Do not be in a hurry. It will happen one day! You can use services which submit your site automatically to a lot of search engines. You can use some of these. You can also submit your sites to philatelic directories other directories on the Net. Be careful while selecting the category where you want your site listed. Write to various philatelic sites and ask for an exchange of links. The more site that are linked to you the higher is your rating. You can join web rings. they are supposed to increase traffic to your site. A cumulative effort will get you some results for sure. You have made a presence in the Internet World. Keep your site updated and maintain it, this is VERY IMPORTANT! |
