TYPING OUT TEXT At this stage you should be knowing what is HTML (at least what it means). This is the language of the Internet. Your pages are formatted and look good because of this. There are hardcore programmers who use a simple text editor like Notepad to write their webpage. You need not do so. Do not make things more painful for yourself. You want to make a good presentation about Philately, you are a philatelist, an office goer or business man, where is the time - go ahead and use some of the good HTML editing packages. Microsoft's FrontPage Express, Netscape Composer, Evrsoft's 1st Page are some of the good packages you can use. They have been used to build these pages. Use tables to format your pages. Use a good template taken from the internet during your search for websites. There is no harm is making a house like the one down the street so far as you do not steal the material. Follow the paper design as far as possible. Use the preview button on your software or open the page in a browser to see how it looks. It is as simple as writing text in a word processor. In fact an easy way out is to type out the page in Microsoft Word and save as HTML. It works! but the files are big and take a long time to load. But this is a good starting point. Go ahead try it! The texts look good. You have left
blanks for the stamp images. Now it is time to put in the graphics. |
