Singapore

We decided not to fly directly to New Zealnd, but to have a stop over in Singapore, for a couple of days.
This proved to be a good plan as the journey is a long one.

Whilst in Singapore, we were amazed at the heat and humidity, along with the power of the air conditioning in some of the buildings !!

The night safari at the Zoo is well worth a trip as the animals are far more active, watch out for the fishing cats as they are truely amasing and very fast. Of course you have to have a Singapore Sling at Raffles, just watch out for the birds that fly in for crumbs.

Transit airport - if you can afford it make us of the transit lounges Singapore airport has set up for passengers. There is a small charge but well worth it, if for nothing other than a hot refreshing shower (so take a change of clothes in your hand luggage). For a small additional charge you can have a shoulder and back massage, great if you are about to get onto another plane for 12-14 hours.
