All these photos were taken on Christmas Day at and around Mount Cook.

The day was fantastic, with the weather being warm and very sunny (remember the sunblock). It was very strange walking on a warm summers day and having people wishing you merry Christmas.

We had decided to mark the day by going for a walk up to the Seally Tarns, which are a couple of small lakes, shown below.

The one thing that proved a real disappoint was the Christmas evening meal. We had booked into the Hermitage Hotel as a Christmas teat and upgraded the room to include Christmas evening meal in their restaurant.

Since Rob has an allergy to dairy products we told the staff and were assured it wouldn't be a problem.

Well it was a disaster resulting in us walking out after having been given very poor service and cold food.(Out of what was supposed to be a 7 course meal, Rob was given 2 sorbets and a cold steak)

This was a real disappointment to both of us, and was the only real problem or disappointment in an otherwise very enjoyable holiday.
