As members
of the Yearbook Staff, you are assigned to write the copy (that's yearbook
jargon meaning the text on the page) for the Memories pages in the Annual.
These pages will contain poems that tell what you most remember about this
school year. The poems may be serious or humorous, or maybe a combination
of both. It has been decided by the Yearbook Staff captain that the
following types of figurative language forms are to be incorporated into
the poems to make these pages a "must read" in the yearbook:
simile,
metaphor, alliteration,
onomatopoeia,
hyperbole, and
personification. Each member on your
team will become an expert on one of these types of figurative language
forms, in order for the team to have the knowledge needed to create the
