The Task

As members of the Yearbook Staff, you are assigned to write the copy (that's yearbook jargon meaning the text on the page) for the Memories pages in the Annual.  These pages will contain poems that tell what you most remember about this school year.  The poems may be serious or humorous, or maybe a combination of both.  It has been decided by the Yearbook Staff captain that the following types of figurative language forms are to be incorporated into the poems to make these pages a "must read" in the yearbook: simile, metaphor, alliteration, onomatopoeia, hyperbole, and personification.  Each member on your team will become an expert on one of these types of figurative language forms, in order for the team to have the knowledge needed to create the poems.
