CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK (18 Feb. night )

Our night stay at the Royal Chitwan National park was the most memorable and exciting part our trip .Island Jungle Resort ,Chitwan is a beautiful resort with excellent facilities to allow us to see wild animals in their natural habitat. We reached this Island spot late at night after a small boat ride to the island. (dark surroundings, background music of all types of jungle sounds !..just imagine an English adventure movie ).after the journey we strode through the thick grass holding our breath! After a 15 mins walk we reached the resort! But when we came to place it was altogether a different atmosphere there! We saw many tourists having dinner and enjoying the cultural show arranged by the natives. It was a stick dance performed by the Nepali boys. Later everyone joined them. Of course we were the first one to join them. We showed our bhangda ,Dandiya and Kolatta dances to them! That night was the most memorable day in Nepal. We had great fun .The next morning we had a great Elephant Safari ride on top of elephant to spot the wild animals in the jungle. it was the first time I traveled on top of an elephant! We spotted many animals like Rhinos, Deers, Monkeys, Snakes, Wild cock, bees etc. Many animals are found here. But the specialty is the Rhinoceros.
LUMBINI (19th Feb)

Lumbini is the birth place of Lord Bhudha. It is now becoming the latest attraction of the people all over the world. The specialty here is that each Buddhist nation is building a Buddhist temple its own style of architecture. We saw the Myanmar style of Buddhist temple and Stupa. Stupas and temples of India and Srilanka are coming up. We also saw the exact place and room where Lord Bhudha was born. It is now being rejuvenated .The whole place will soon become of the top tourist attraction as well as place of worship .
And the significance of any Buddhist temple is that you may go in with a disturbed mind but when we come out we will have a great mental peace! Another ritual of the Buddhists is the tying of the sacred cloth a your neck. This small piece of white silk cloth tied around your neck by a Buddhist monk is considered to bring good luck to us.
MANAKAMANA TEMPLE (20th Feb.)

On our way back to Katmandu from Pokhra, we visited the famous Manakamana Temple of Goddess Manakamana .It is believed that This goddess has the power to fulfill all our wishes. This temple is situated on top of a hillock about 6000 ft.Its nearly a small town on top of the hill. The road way takes 5hrs to reach top.
But yes the most preferred conveyance mode is the Cable car which takes us on top in exact 11 minutes. The cable car ride is little bit costly but an enjoyable experience....sitting inside the car one can't help but imagine what will happen if the rope breaks? It is only then you realize how precious our life is ! :-)
The Goddess Manakamana is said to grant any wish that you ask her. "Manokamana" means "mind's wish" .That means the Goddess will grant you anything that your mind asks her. And after the fulfillment you can visit the temple and thank her. Thanks can also be shown by sacrifice. I have also asked the goddess for a boon, I wish it comes true ! (One is not supposed to reveal his wish to anyone until it happens!)
