INTRODUCTION

"What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life with what you do today!"

The Indo-Nepal Youth Exchange Program  (Feb. 14, 2001 to Feb. 23 ,2001)

I consider it as a privilege to have got this wonderful chance to represent my country to another beautiful country-NEPAL. Looking back ,I find that I have reached the peak of all NCC activities and all the hard work and sufferings during my training is worth it. The feeling that I'm one of the 10 cadets selected from 1.4 million NCC cadets all over India makes me very proud .The memories and knowledge I gained from this trip is worth a lifetime!

I have clear memories of all our happy faces when we boarded the IA flight No: IC 813  New Delhi to Katmandu ! (Yeah the same flight which had a 7 days stay at Kandahar in Afghanistan last year -courtesy the terrorism prevalent in this world)

The excitement associated with an airplane can't be hided even by an adult !

We reached the THRIBHUVAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ,KATMANDU at local time 2.30 pm .Capt.Himalaya Bikram shah of Nepal NCC had come to welcome us. Coming out of the airport ,the slight chill in the air and the cool breeze from the mountains and the clear sky made me poetic for sometime!

Capt.Shah took us to Bharathiya Gorkha Sainik Nivas for our stay. Very comfortable rooms ,cozy bed ,TV ,Phone etc...My room no: was 11 and was named  as Dhaulagiri -One of the famous Mountain peaks in Nepal. Similarly other rooms were Fewa, Langtang, Chitwan, Nagarkot, Macchapuchre,Sagarmatha, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Makalu, Nagarjun, Annapurna, Gorkha ,Pokhra etc..All these are some of the most famous tourist spots in Nepal.

That night we didn't have much work .Moreover the mountain climate is at times sickening. The cold climate at night made me a little uncomfortable!

From the very next morning onwards till the last moment ,we were moving around many places ,and all are world  famous tourist spots.I would now cover a few points about each place .

But before that a small introduction about the small but beautiful country NEPAL
