On November 17th 1989 my world was changed forever. The day started off normally enough, after all i was just a kid going to see another Disney movie. But as soon as the ship broke through the fog I knew that this movie was no ordinary Disney movie. I sat on the edge of my seat until the last note and the first words out of my mouth were "When can we see it again?" I saw that movie in theaters 11 times and when the VHS came out it was mine and i watched it over and over again. Even though i'm much older now the movie is still my favorite and i still watch it over and over again. The movie was the last creation of truly breakthrough animation(did you know that each bubble was drawn by hand!). It has been etched forever in the hearts of the public and though it wasn't the first Disney movie, and definetly not the last, it will always be treasured and remembered.
This movie has a truly amazing score, vibrant animation, and a mesmorizing story. Ursula is truly the funniest and yet scary villian ever! Ariel is a role model for anyone who has dreams. She forces us to take risks and dream big. She inspires us to overcome obstacles; after all she gave her life to the sea witch just to become human for three days. I have learned never to doubt myself and that my biggest dreams can come true.
So why did i make this website? Obviously because i love this movie and watching it just isn't enough. But also because in surfing the web i found tons of people who feel the same way i do; this movie has changed lives.
