The Little Mermaid II
Return to the Sea
(An info page)
Summary(cuz i'm not wasting my time writing out a script for this movie!)
The movie opens up with Ariel heading out to sea with Eric and her new baby Melody. She happily greets Triton and he gives Melody a special locket. Suddenly the sky turns dark and an evil octopus appears. It's Morgana, Ursuala's crazy sister. She snatchs Melody and tries to ransom her for the trident but she is easily defeated(surprise). She vows to get the trident and Melody. Ariel and Eric take Melody home and Ariel tells her father she must keep Melody from the sea. Triton tells Sebastian he will watch over Melody(Sebastian looks stunned). Over time a huge wall goes up to keep Melody from the sea.
13 years later, and what do we see? None other than Melody swimming in the sea(hmm defying orders). Suddenly she realizes she is late for the big party. She rushes in just in time. However when she is getting ready she ties Sebastian in her dress and at the party he snaps some poor guys hand and causes a big scene(of course Louie tries to pound Sebastion as soon as he sees him). Later that night Ariel tries to comfort her and Melody shows her mom the locket she found in the sea. Ariel is furious(you deliberately disobeyed me!!) and so Melody is angry and storms out. Melody heads for the sea to find someone who can tell her about the locket and Sebastain goes and tells Ariel that Melody has run away. Of course Morgana's trusty sidekick Undertow finds her and takes her to Morgana who turns her into a mermaid(using Ursula's magic) but tells her she must get the Trident to make it permanent.
Meanwhile Ariel has reunited with her father and has turnd back into a mermaid to help find Melody. She also reunites with flounder and he sets off to help her.
On her way to Atlantica Melody mets Tip and Dash and the three quickly become friends. They sneak into the palace and steal the Trident. However Melody loses her locket.
Ariel sees the locket and realizes that Melody must have taken it for Morgana(since only family can take the Trident) but by the time she finds her, Melody is upset enough to give the trident to Morgana. Then comes the big cheesy end scene. Melody changes back into a human and is trapped underwater. Meanwhile the King arrives but is forced to bow down to Morgana. Tip and Dash manage to save Melody so she is the only one left to do something. Of course she gets the trident away from Morgana, Triton turns Morgana into a block of ice, the wall that blocks the sea is torn down, and land & sea creatures live happily ever after with a big rainbow(ooo and Melody meets a cute merman)

My Review
Okay sorry to make some people angry, but the sequel is definetly not as good as the first movie which is why I only dedicated one page to this monstrasty. Hmm where to begin.....First of all the sequel is pretty similar to the storyline of the first, yet its not as good. The most annoying thing is Morgana because she is a let down compared to Ursula. Ursula was scary, when i was five she gave me chills(and still does). Morgana is more of a comic mess up. Before she even has a chance to be evil she proves that she can be easily over thrown. Plus she says that Ursula was more powerful(this one can't even turn the fish back without a disaster) than her and if Ursula couldn't overthrown Triton, it is obvious she can't. Please, that witch wouldn't even frighten flounder. Plus all the characters act pretty much the same, some have some of the same lines. It also annoyed me that Scuttle was even dumber than he was in the first movie(which is really pushing, how stupid can you get).
If you are still with me, sorry about that ranting but there were some aspects of the movie that i did love. This movie was funnier than the first(most of the comedy comes from Morgana). Melody was great becasue she was so much like Ariel and yet different. Ariel seemed more confident and popular, while Melody is ackward and almost an outcast, so i think plently of girls can relate to her character. I loved the insight into the life of Ariel and Eric(it was fun getting to see them being parents). It was interesting to see Ariel act like her father, to show how far she has come. However i was alittle sad when i watched this because even though Ariel is happy, it's weird seeing her and Flounder grown up. It almost feels as if she is tied down, part of me wants her to keep having the adventures with flounder, but i know that being a mom is still very rewarding. Okay well that's my take on this movie and even though i don't watch it as much as the first one, i still recommend it!!
