I am Annette "Della"  Rambo. My brothers and sister are    Harvey L. Rambo, Walter E. Rambo,  John A. Rambo, Sally G. Rambo Barneske, and  William R. Rambo

I had always been told that our American line of Rambo's began when Joseph Rambo and two of his brothers came to  America from France and that the three  men married Indians. 

I had also been told that the father of James G. Rambo was Joseph Rambo  and that Joseph  owned an inn .  According to the story Joseph  was killed by a band of raiders  sometime near the  end of the  Civil War. 

I have searched for Joseph with a son named James in Alabama and/or MS and have not been able to find one with a son James who would be the correct age for our James G. Rambo.
