James Roy Rambo He was called "ROY" and lived in Ms. and Ark. most of his life making his living ,farming the land. In 1957 Roy, his wife, and two youngest children moved to Chicago. He lived in Chicago until he retired about 1973. He and Essie (known as Cal) moved into a mobile home on their son Walter's farm just outside of Aledo, IL. This move was perfect for him because he had always loved being outdoors. In his retirement he spent much of his time working around his son Walt's farm, building small things, hunting and reading. He was a very dedicated , caring husband and a strict but loving father to his children. On Friday November 29, 1991 a tornado struck Roy's home and totally destroyed everything except the porch. On December 04, 1991 he died from injuries received during the storm. We had his body brought to Orland Park, IL and he was buried beside his wife Essie. Roy and Cal are buried Willow Hills Memorial Park 9100 South Archer Avenue, Willow Springs, IL. Cook County Section 1-A Lot # 68 - Space A3. Essie Bee Criddle Essie was known as "Cal". She was a home body. She loved her home and children. She had multiple health problems through out her life; therefore, she did not go out much. She liked to crochet, work puzzles, and watch TV. When she became so ill that Roy could no longer take care of her by himself he brought her to their daughter's house in Orland Park. She required so much care at that point that his daughter asked, "why didn't you bring her sooner". Roy said "because I knew that when I brought her here that she would not be going back home with me".Since we knew she was dying we decided to have her MD visit her at home instead of putting her in the hospital. On April 05, 1986, with her husband and all her children by her side she slowly slipped away.
