The meeting was called to order at 7:07 PM at the Upper Allen Township Building.  In attendance were: Frank B., Leslie C., M. D., Pat E., Rick H., Gary K., Casey M., Jeff M., Mike O., Kevin P., Kathy R. and Mick S..

Secretary's report:    Minutes from September were approved as corrected.  Troop 190 has paid the $70.00 for Camp to the Pack at this time.  The minutes were posted on the web site.

Treasurer's report:    No Treasurer’s report was available.

Old Business

Den Chiefs:   All Den Leaders confirmed their Den Chiefs for the coming scouting year.  Jeff M. spoke with Jeff K..  Boy Scout Troop 190 will be supplying us the following:
Webelos II Badgers:  Shane J.
Webelos II Wolverines:  Andrew C.
Webelos I Rams:  Andy B.
Bears Den 1:  Nate C.
Wolf Den 5:  Matthew M.
Wolf Den 6:  Eric M.

Winter Camp:   Winter Camp is November 15 – 17th.  The price for Fall Camp will be $6.00 for each Tiger and Partner and $12 for each other scout or adult.  Jeff M. will speak with Jeff K. about the program for camp.

Activities for Winter Camp:   Talking about respect for camp was discussed by Mike.  He felt that we should discuss the meaning of respect for property and camp resources at the beginning of camp.  The committee agreed that this would be an appropriate time to go over the rules!  Mike brought this up because there has been a recent rash of vandalism at Hidden Valley.

Wood Projects:   The catapult was brought up as a suggestion.  It appears on page 278 of the Webelos handbook.  Gary K. will look into the cost.  Mike O. stated he has some old wood that we may be able to use.  Last year the Pack spent $70.00 -$80.00 on the wood project.  We will base all estimates on approx. 70 boys.

Camp Registration:   Pat E. will create the registration form for camp.  He will set up a table specifically for this purpose at the next Pack Meeting.

Food:   Jack R. will be helping us again prepare the food for Camp.  The Thursday before we leave for camp we will gather at St. Paul’s to prepare some of the food in advance.

Kickball:   The official rules for kickball are needed.  Pat will get them online.

Flag History:   This activity may be changed based on Troop 190’s ideas.  Possible orienteering course, Compass course with simple maps are also an idea.

Pack Purchases:   Casey has ordered a rubber stamp for the Pack.  It should be delivered shortly.

Registration:   Registration went well for all new scouts.  Returning scouts were given a registration form.  This form with the appropriate payment should be returned to their Den Leaders or Kathy R. at the next Pack meeting in October.

New Business

Wolf Dens:   The committee discussed the problems with the Wolf Dens.  We have recently had 5 boys sign up for Wolf’s.  We currently have two Dens one with six and the other with eight boys.  If we divide up the incoming boys into those two dens we will have very large Dens of 9 and 10.  The problem arose when only one parent was able to step forward to help run the Den.  Since it is our rule, as well the rule of the Council, to have two deep leadership, we decided to combine the boys into existing Dens.  Hopefully some of the parents will be able to step forward to assist the existing Den leadership.  The Dens will be called Den 5 and Den 6.

Leslie C. will divide up the boys and call the Den Leaders and let them know.  Kathy R. will email a list of those boys whom are registered to the Leaders and Assistant Leaders.  If Dens have boys in them without email the Den Leaders will be responsible for passing on any information to the boys.

Pack T-Shirts:   Gary K. presented the T-shirt designs that were available for display at the Committee Meeting.  The Committee voted for the combination of two selections.  The winners will be announced soon.

Tiger Cub Den:   One Tiger Cub Den has been formed.  It will officially be known as Den 4.  It currently has 10 boys.  4 boys have paid registration fees to date.

Rehabitat:   Bring items to the next Pack Meeting.  The Committee felt the activity went well.  Rick H's Den, the Rams, will be doing a service project that includes collecting items for Rehabitat.  Members of this Den will be collecting the items at the meeting as well as contacting the individual Dens.

Pack Roster:   Kathy R. will email the list of all boys in the Cub Pack 190 to all Leaders and Assistants.

Commissioner:   Jeff M. announced he received a phone call from Wendell D..  He is a new Commissioner in Boy Scouting and was interested in receiving our schedule and newsletter.

Reminders

A representative from each Den should plan to attend the monthly Pack Committee Meetings.  The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 7, 2002 at 7:00 pm @ St. Paul’s.

Open Positions:
Treasurer – for 2002 – 2003 year.  This important position does not require a great deal of time, but is vital for the Pack.  The Pack must fill this position soon!!
Awards Shadow, Activity Shadow for 2002- 2003 – These positions are currently handled by Russ W..  His son will be moving on to Boy Scouts in March.
Cub Master for 2003-2004 - Dr. M. will continue to fill this position until March, but will also be leaving in the spring as his son bridges to Boy Scouts.  The best way to learn this position would be to have this person as an Assistant Cub Master for the 2002- 2003 year.
Secretary – This position will be needed in the spring of 2003.
