Thursday, May 1, 2003The meeting was called to order at 7:38 PM at St. Paul’s. In attendance were: Dave B., Leslie C., Randy C., Rick H., Matt M., Mike O., Kevin P., Jean R., and Chris Y.. Secretary's report: Minutes from April were reviewed and approved. Treasurer's report: The Treasurer’s balance as of 4/31/03 was $2,573.08. Old Business The Great Cub Scout Adventure: Saturday, May 3, 2003 at City Island. The cost is $5.00 per scout, $3.00 per sibling, adults free. The event will be held rain or shine. Senators Baseball Game: Thursday, July 3, 2003 at City Island. Interested cubs should register by the May Pack meeting. The cost is $12.00 per person including camping. Jean needs the names of the adults and scouts, who will be attending, by the May Pack meeting. Leslie recommended Jean send pre-registration form out prior to May Pack Meeting. There are two separate forms; one for the game ($8) and one for the campout ($9). Dave will send these forms to Jean via email. Jean will send forms to den leaders prior to May Pack meeting. The money will be due by the May Pack Meeting. Jean will target having the Pack check in the mail May 19th. Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce: The Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce is holding an Arts and Crafts Day on August 2nd. The committee discussed whether the pack wanted to sell hot dogs at this event. Dave recommended setting up a stand in front of Jack Ritter’s store. He will call Jack and see if we can go there. Mike will find out where we are allowed to set up. Need to determine who will man the stand. Will ask for volunteers at May Pack meeting. Collage of Eagle Projects: Mike discussed putting together a collage of pictures and a description of 6 Eagle Projects. Issue tabled until a later date. New Business New Committee Chair: Effective June 2003, Kevin Peters will replace Mike Onofrey as Committee Chair. Mike will volunteer as Assistant Cubmaster. May Pack Meeting Agenda: Dave reviewed the May Pack meeting agenda. Leslie will conduct Tiger ceremony. Dave will call Pack leaders who will call scouts if meeting is cancelled due to inclement weather. Leslie will send an email out to all den leaders regarding the Annual ALS walk and Pasta for Pals Day. Partner and Pals attendees need only complete section 1 of the medical form, since it’s less than 72 hours. Reviewed list of who is attending Partner and Pals. Dave will adjust list to show parent and scout name. Summertime Activities: Jean reviewed the schedule for 2003.
Jean needs to send tour permits for summertime activities at least 2 weeks prior to event. Jean will develop a finalized list of all summertime activities, email to all den leaders and bring copies to the May pack meeting for distribution. Handbooks: Changes are being made to the Wolf, Bear and Webelo’s handbooks. Pack Calendar: Discussed Pack calendar. Randy to make changes to calendar. Randy to advise Kevin or Dave of Fall Picnic location by the May Pack meeting. Fall Camp T-Shirts: They will be distributed either at Fall camp or given to den leaders for distribution prior to camp. 2003 Goals: Mike reviewed 2003 goals:
Boys Life: Dave recommended rolling cost of Boys Life into annual membership fee. It could then be used as a tool in den meetings. Naylor Observatory: Discussed possible outing to Naylor Observatory. Jean will decide the following by the May Pack meeting:
Packmaster: New program called millennium. New version allows multiple people to get into it. Need to talk to Kathy to get her views on the program. The upgrade costs $39. Miscellaneous Discussion:
Next Committee Meeting: The next committee meeting will be held at St. Paul’s on Thursday, June 5th at 7:30 PM. The meeting was adjourned at 9:20 PM. Home
