The
meeting was called to order at 7:36 PM.
In attendance were: Pat
E., Sharon H., Gary K., Casey M., Jeff M., Mike O., Terry S. and
Russ W. Also in attendance was Pam Carr from the Council
Office. Secretary's
report: Minutes were
previously posted on the web site and were handed out at the April
Pack Meeting. Minutes were approved as written; motion was made by
Jeff M. and seconded by Terry S. Treasurer's
report: Balance as of
March 31, 2001 was $2,186.79. Placed on file for audit.
Old Business As
a pack service project, Pam C. spoke to
the committee concerning the new den of boys she has formed at the
Methodist Home. She
currently has 4 Boys, 1 fourth grader and 3 fifth graders.
The den was formed in February 2001 and they are currently
working on their Webelos requirements.
She welcomes the participation of our dens and feels the boys
may benefit from participating in some of our Pack activities. The
committee extended an open invitation to her and her den to
participate in any activities she feels are appropriate.
Any den wishing to include Pam's den in an activity may
contact her at her email address: Please call the cubmaster or
committee chairman for her email or telephone number. This
would be a wonderful project for our Pack and the committee welcomes
any other ideas for service projects. Please reference the calendar page and/or summer activities page for upcoming events. Gary K. reported that the T-shirts were handed out at the April Pack Meeting and a second order is on the way. There was a $70.00 art set-up fee and an additional $20.00 fee for production that Gary paid directly to the printer. Jeff M. made a motion to reimburse Gary for costs incurred for the shirts. A total of 40 shirts were sold. Next year we will have to include this art fee in the cost to the scouts if we change artwork. There was not a report on the popcorn activity at this time. Mike
O. reminded all committee members to fill out their job descriptions
for the volunteer manual and forward them to him as soon as
possible. New Business Camp deadlines in order to receive the discounted rates will be set as the April Pack Meeting. All registrations should be turned in through Jeff Marks. The troop would like to be able to keep track of which of our boys go and when. We currently have 15 boys and partners signed up to go, 5 to the June weekend and 10 to the August weekend. Please let us know if you have signed up to go and did not send the registration thru Jeff Marks. A
plaque gift was discussed by the
committee to give to Terry and Mark in appreciation of their
service. Casey M. will look into this at the Council Shop. Tiger Cub Fun Day will be held Saturday, May 19th at Hidden Valley. This is for all boys currently attending kindergarten. A Service Chairperson is
needed for next year. This would involve our Christmas program with
the Methodist Home and the Scouting for Food Program. A Picnic Chairperson is needed to help plan and orchestrate our September 22, 2001, kick-off picnic. Please see Mr. M. for more information. A Membership Chairperson
is needed
for our Back to Scouting Night and Registration campaign.
This position will also be involved in seeing that flyers are
distributed through the schools. Please consider any of these positions. We depend on the parents of our cubs to keep this wonderful pack going. These positions would begin in June 2001, but it is not too early to think about serving the pack in any of these capacities.
Reminders The next Pack Meeting will be on Friday, May 18, 2001, at 7:30 PM at the Mark's residence. The next Committee Meeting will be on Thursday, June 7, 2001, at 7:30 PM at St. Paul's. Any den responsible for the flag ceremony should report to St. Paul's one-half hour before the pack meeting. In addition to the ceremony they will also be responsible for setting up the chairs. At the end of the pack meeting the den will also be responsible for putting away the chairs and returning the church hall to it's daily setup. A drawing of the hall setup will be available. Thank you.
