Thursday, July 10, 2003The meeting was called to order at 7:35 PM at St. Paul’s. In attendance were: Dave B., Leslie C., Randy C., Mike O., Kevin P., Kathy R., Sherry S., and Mick S.. Secretary's report: June minutes were reviewed and approved. Treasurer's report: No Treasurer’s report given. Old Business June Pack Activities: Reviewed activities that took place in June. These included Wildwood Center hike, Partner and Pals Camping and Senators baseball and camping. Consensus was that all activities went well. Additional comments:1. Partners and Pals – Dave to ask Rich M. to contact Kathy M. and check on applications for the BB Gun and Archery belt loops. Those that attended Partners and Pals weekend satisfied all requirements for these two belt loops. 2. Senators baseball and camping – Leslie suggested next year we find out in advance who will stay over and meet up after the game to allow the Pack to camp together. We also need to get our reservation in earlier to allow our group to be seated together during the game. Action Items from June Committee Meeting: Items now closed include the following: q Randy to confirm picnic date with park to be used. q Leslie to contact new family about uniforms and registration.
New Business Scout Sunday at St. Paul's: Scout Sunday will be 2/1/04. This is the same day as St. Paul’s “Youth Sunday”; therefore the Pack will have no role in the service. Scouts should attend in uniform. We will attend as a group. Contribution to St. Paul's: Mike asked if we made a contribution to St. Paul’s last year. Treasurer will need to verify this. Fall Camp Activities: Reviewed plans for Fall Camp. Kevin developed chart to show what we did in prior years. Webelos II go Friday night, while Tigers, Wolfs, Bears and Webelos I go Saturday. Tigers don’t stay over night. No activities planned for Friday. It’s up to the den to arrange Friday activities. Dave to talk to a contact in the OOA about their participation. Will add Flag Football to the schedule for Saturday, as this is a new belt loop. Will make hot dog sticks as the craft. We have 2 hours and 45 minutes for morning activities. The plan is to have a craft station, flag football, knot tying and a nature walk. We need to have walkie- talkies to allow communication between camps this year. Will add lights out to the schedule. Will need to outline all the rules for scouts and parents. Cost to be determined once Rick finalizes the budget. It will be up to the Treasurer to figure out the budget for camp. Budget to include food, craft items, cabin rental and patches. Hot Dog Sale: The hot dog sale will take place on 8/2/03. Talked about patches for hot dog sale, which are to be distributed at the September Pack meeting. Ritter’s will allow us to use their grills and equipment. Need volunteer to buy food and rolls later in the week prior to 8/2/03. Scout Accounts: Discussed idea of setting up Scout Accounts. Tabled discussion for future Committee meeting. Scout T-Shirt Contest: Will use Greg’s Printing in Mechanicsburg for scout shirts. Will go with hooded pullovers and t-shirts. This year we need child sizes available. Need to find out what size a medium sweatshirt silkscreen would be and then determine if we can use one print for kids and adults. This will cut our expense. Back to Scouting Night: Need Back to Scouting Night fliers to school district for approval. Kathy needs to give the date, time and location to the school board. Leslie to send email to Brian and “cc” Kathy. Kathy and Leslie to coordinate. Need registration forms, calendar, information on the Pack and Tiger Cub information sheets. Den leaders need to attend. Will start at 6:30 (1/2 hour before Pack Meeting) on scheduled night. Kevin to coordinate extra rooms that night. Pack Registration Forms: Discussed changes needed to the registration forms Dave developed. We need to put the tour permit and health information together on one page back-to-back. We will use our health form for all scouts. This information is helpful for the Den Leaders. Den Leaders will receive a copy of each scout’s registration packet. September Pack Meeting: Discussed Pack Meeting event. Committee was asked to bring ideas to September meeting. Need to work out skit schedules for the year. Laurel Lake: Discussed events at Laurel Lake on Sunday July 13th. Will go to Pole’s Steeple. Kevin to send an email advising where to meet for the hike. Next Committee Meeting: The next committee meeting will be held at St. Paul’s on Thursday, August 14th at 7:30 PM. The meeting was adjourned at 9:50 PM. Home
