Secretary's report: Minutes from June were approved as corrected. The minutes were posted on the web site. One correction was noted under open positions Awards Coordinator position was listed twice. A Shadow is needed to follow this position during the 2002 –2003 year. This person will then take over the position in the spring of 2003. Treasurer's report: Balance as of June 30, 2002 was $2,257.74. Old Business Wildlife Weekend Program: 2002 Wildlife weekend packages were discussed. Cathy M. was unavailable for a report. The committee was unaware if the minimum number of campers was met. The dates are August 24- 26th. Contact Cathy for details. Fall Picnic: The Fall picnic is scheduled for 09/21/02 at Koser Park in Mechanicsburg from 3 PM to 7 PM. Heather D. is arranging the Picnic again this year. Heather should be invited to attend our August and September meetings. Winter Camp: Jeff M. registered the troop for winter camp. He secured enough space so that Boy Scout Troop 190 will again be able to join us that weekend. There is currently a problem with one of the cabins we registered for. Council is trying to resolve this problem of double booking. Troop 190 owes the Pack $70.00. We will wait until September to remind Brian D. about the cabin problem. Winter Camp is November 15 – 17th. Adventure District Camping: The district is sponsoring a Family Camping Weekend September 14- 15th, 2002. The fee is $12.50 per family up to 4 members and $5.00 for each additional family member. Children under age 5 are free. This camping will take place at Hidden Valley. Arrival will be on Saturday morning between 7:00 am and 10:00 am. Program areas will be open at 10:00 am and Campfire will be at 8:00 pm. Each family provides their own tent, camping gear, food and personal gear. Program areas will be archery, BB gun, crafts and games. For more information contact Council. New Business Quality Unit Award: Mike explained that he has been working with Mr. Larry T., District Commissioner, to determine if we qualified for the Quality Plus Unit Award. Problems exist in the district’s records concerning Training and Registration of our scouts. We have certainly exceeded expectations in many of the categories, but some questions will need to be answered before we will be awarded this level. Mike will work with Mr. T. and Brian D. from Council. Winter Camp Program: The following was discussed for Winter Camp. The committee agreed that the Saturday program should be run similarly as in the past. The morning activity will be divided in half. In the afternoon there will be stations that will include a project station, movement activity, knot tying, fire safety, forestry, possible obstacle course using some stories Mike found. Badminton was discussed as a possible belt loop or they could play kickball. More information about the program will be discussed at next month’s meeting. The youth protection video was also raised as a possibility. A number of committee members felt that this video would best be used on a small group or individual basis. Mike will consider other options of using the video and material. Open Positions: Kathy T. and Cindy C. have volunteered to shadow for the Blue and Gold. We currently have parents who have stepped forward to fill the Pack T-Shirt and Scouting for Food positions. The Pack appreciates all the Parent volunteers who make this organization work so well. Thank you. The Pack is still in need of the following: Treasurer for 2002-2003 year.  This important position does not require a great deal of time, but is vital for the Pack. Awards Shadow, Activity Shadow for 2002-2003. These positions are currently handled by Russ W.. His son will be moving on to Boy Scouts in March. Cub Master for 2003 - 2004. Dr. Marks will continue to fill this position until March, but will also be leaving in the spring as his son bridges to Boy Scouts. The best way to learn this position would be to have this person as an Assistant Cub Master for the 2002- 2003 year. Pack Trainer is needed for the 2002-2003 year. Secretary: This position will be needed in the spring of 2003. Purchases needed for the Pack: A copy of Quicken should be purchased by the Pack for use by a new Treasurer. The committee decided that we would wait to see if the person filling this position already has Quicken or not. A rubber stamp that states Cub Scout Pack 190 – Deposit Only. This was approved motion made by Casey seconded by Leslie. Reminders A representative from each Den should plan to attend the monthly Pack Committee Meetings.
