February
10, 2002 at 5:00 PM we will hold our annual Blue
and Gold Banquet. The
fellowship hall at St. Paul’s has been reserved.
The cost will be $3.50 per person and the menu will consist
of ham, potatoes and vegetables.
Each family will be asked to bring a dessert.
Registration began at the December Pack Meeting and continues
at the Pinewood Derby and the January Pack Meeting.
The Dens will be making our table decorations.
We have confirmed our speaker as Mr. Jeff S. a local fireman
who spent time at ground zero.
He will be stressing citizenship and duty.
Jeff M. will be sending out the invitations to our guests Mr.
and Mrs. Jack C., Mr. Brian D., our current Kiwanis representative,
Mr. Edward T., and Mr. Jeff K.. Mr. T. is a chaplain; we will ask
him to say grace for us before our meal. Last year we had approx. 76 % attendance. This year we have a very large number of scouts and will have to set a deadline that all reservations are made by the January Pack Meeting or seating will not be guaranteed. Pat E. will be picking up the placemats from Keystone Area Council. Den Leaders should not forget to request service pins along with their regular awards for the Blue and Gold. Tigers will receive a 1 year Tiger Cub Pin. Bears will receive a 1 year Cub Scout Pin, etc. We will ask Boy Scout Troop 190 for some help in the kitchen.
Russ W. suggested Sunday, March 17th for a Hershey Bears Hockey game. The game will start at 6:00 PM. The cost will be $7.00 per person. Casey Marks made a motion to accept this date for the Pack. Rick Herring seconded the motion.
The subject of the Giant certificates was discussed. Casey received information from Giant. We need to send a letter on our letterhead giving the current officers names, addresses and phone numbers, along with a copy of the certificate that proves we are a non-profit organization. No one at the meeting was quite sure where that certificate might be. It was suggested that Casey call Brian D. at Keystone to locate it. As soon as we receive the information we can begin to sell the certificates. Casey was asked to call Lois G., our new Fund Raising Chairperson to share this information. New Business
Mike
O. announced that because of a class he was going to begin teaching
that he would like us to consider changing the night of the
Committee Meeting if possible.
Casey M. mentioned that Jeff M. is also busy every Thursday
night until April. The
committee discussed the change to a Friday night beginning in
February. The Committee
decided that next month’s meeting would be held on Friday,
February 8th at 7:00 PM at St. Paul’s. Mark M. suggested that now that some of the leaders were free on Thursday nights they might want to consider attending the Keystone Area Roundtables. These are held the first Thursday of the month at Wesley United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg. He explained that these meetings are theme oriented and do have great information for the Den Leaders and Pack Leaders at all levels.
Many thanks to Mark M. for helping with uniform
inspection at the December Pack Meeting. The
Inspection helps promote our goal of pride in scouting and pride in
their uniform. It also
teaches the boys the proper way to wear their uniform.
Again, Many Thanks!
