The meeting was called to order at 7:37 PM. In attendance were: Leslie C., Heather D., Pat E., Mike O., Gary K., Brenda K., Mark M. and Beth B. Secretary's
report: Minutes were
previously posted on the web site and were handed out at the July
Committee Meeting. Minutes were approved as corrected; motion was made by
Leslie C. and seconded by Pat E. Treasurer's
report: Balance as of
July 31, 2001 was $1,741.14. Placed on file for audit.
Old Business The Duncan's will be the picnic chairpersons. The picnic is scheduled for September 22, 2001, at the Lower Allen Township Park. Heather and Pat will bring gas grills for cooking. Leaders should be in formal uniforms and scouts in class B uniforms. On Tuesday night, August 14, 2001, the Mechanicsburg School Board will hold a meeting at 7:30 pm. The cub scout flyer issue will be on the agenda. Possible Fall Camp activities include: group volleyball, compass, bb guns, knot tying, woodworking, space derby, hike, slide station, making a pinewood derby stand, marching, cooking. Mike O. will purchase one space derby kit and see how easily they can be put together for use at Fall Camp. A suggestion was made to ask Troop 190 to help at Fall Camp stations, while the parents walk around with their sons.
New Business Edward T. will be our new Kiwanis Representative. He will be invited to attend our committee meetings. The Upper Allen Community Day will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2001, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Leslie C. will be coordinating volunteers to help sell popcorn there, as well as, provide information for new cub scouts. Back to Scouting Night will be planned for 6:30 pm, with the pack meeting starting at 7:00 pm on Friday, September, 21, 2001. A Service Chairperson is
needed for next year. This would involve our Christmas program with
the Methodist Home and the Scouting for Food Program.
Reminders The next Pack Meeting will be on Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at 7:00 PM at St. Paul's. The next Committee Meeting will be on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, at 7:00 PM at St. Paul's. Any den responsible for the flag ceremony should report to St. Paul's one-half hour before the pack meeting. In addition to the ceremony they will also be responsible for setting up the chairs. At the end of the pack meeting the den will also be responsible for putting away the chairs and returning the church hall to it's daily setup. A drawing of the hall setup will be available.
