Thursday, April 3, 2003The meeting was called to order at 7:39 PM at St. Paul’s. In attendance were: Dave B., Leslie C., Rick H., Mike O., Kevin P., Kathy R., and Mick S.. Secretary's report: Minutes from February were approved. The minutes from March were corrected to include the Treasurer’s balance at the end of February of $3,327.97. The March minutes were approved as amended Treasurer's report: Mike O. gave the Treasurer’s Report. The balance as of March 31st was $2,912.35. Old Business April Pack Meeting: We will have Tim G. from the PA Game Commission give us a slide show at our April pack meeting. Mechanicsburg Sportsmen's Club: A letter was written to the Mechanicsburg Sportsmen’s Club asking about group membership for the pack. Liability is still an unresolved issue. This is on hold as the committee continues to evaluate options. Tour Permit Change: A Local Tour Permit now requires at least one adult with Youth Protection Training attend. Adults are encouraged to take the on-line training available thru the Council. Leslie C. told the group that per Jack C., Tour Permits are not required for the normal Tiger Cub activities since a parent is always with each child. Mike O. will follow through on Tour Permits for summer activities. Fall Camp Requirement: Mike O. announced that at least one adult must have BALOO training and Health & Safety training for Fall Camp. BALOO training is scheduled for Saturday, April 26th at Hidden Valley. New Business Next Committee Meeting: The next committee meeting will be held at St. Paul's on Thursday, May 1, 2003 at 7:30 PM. Great Cub Scout Island Adventure: Saturday, May 3, 2003 at City Island. Interested cubs should register by the April pack meeting. The cost is $5.00 per scout, $3.00 per sibling, adults free. Senators Baseball and Camping: Thursday, July 3, 2003 at City Island. Interested cubs should register by the May pack meeting. The cost is $12.00 per person including camping. Extra Items: The committee discussed several extra items held by the Pack. They agreed to pass out granola bars at the Memorial Day parade. The leftover hot dogs will be donated. Two leftover shirts will go to the uniform bank. Arts & Crafts Day: The Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce is holding an Arts and Crafts Day on August 2nd. The committee discussed whether the pack wanted to sell hot dogs at this event. The item was tabled for the May committee meeting. Eagle Projects: A Boy Scout with troop 190 will be putting together a collage of Eagle Scout projects for display at the May pack meeting. Friends of Scouting: The pack pledged a total of $1,669 at the recent Friends of Scouting event. Family Fun Walk: The committee discussed two upcoming Family Fun Walks. The first is on April 27th at Little Buffalo. The second is on May 18th in Chambersburg. Donations: The committee agreed to send a $50 donation and a thank you note to the First United Methodist Church for allowing the pack to use their facilities for the Pinewood Derby. The committee also discussed a potential donation to the Mechanicsburg Library. Reminders Positions Still Needed: Assistant Cub Master – Needed immediately. Dates To Remember The next Committee Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 1, 2003 at 7:30 PM at St. Paul's. Great Cub Scout Island Adventure: Saturday, May 3rd at City Island.
