Appointments in CSSC, on a second thought

CSSC's faced with issues on the time and availability of some of its officers. Five of them have working committments outside the university. Billie is part time at Jollibee; Robert is a Website developer at Radyo Natin 92.7 FM Radio Station based in Biñan; Mark is a part-time programmer at an emerging IT company; Neri is having her internship at Napocor; and Lionel is complying his Working Student Program at Globe Telecom, aside from his internship at Isuzu Automotive Inc.

With the line-up of projects and events the CSSC has this year, they will really need a huge manpower in order to achieve all their goals. With five of them working, plus three others are very busy with their thesis, the body thought of a resolution that will appoint potential student leaders to add to the line-up of officers. The body will form a pool, wherein the executive officers will decide whom to fish in. The number of appointees and the positions are not yet final at this moment. Preferably, according to Gonzaga, they will select lower year level students, for they will still track longer stay in the university.

"My officers will nominate students who think have potentials, then all of the nominees will be screened and interviewed, regarding on their experience and/or skills and their willingness to take the responsibilities, of course;" Gonzaga stated. "Give us a week or two to finalize everything," he added.

Aside from the working and graduating students, another worry is that most of the officers are scholars and are maintaining grades. "On the other end, I am very satisfied with what my officers, especially the new ones, have shown. I have seen sacrifices on their part that their leaisure activities were slowly getting lesser. They are very dedicated. But I do not want that time will come their academics will suffer from their sacrifices," he stressed.
