CREW NEEDED

I don't have a crew selection process, but if I had, I would ask the following questions:

Can you live without TV, microwave, telephone, car, 500 Miles from the nearest city?

Can you catch, clean, and cook fish?

Can you bake a loaf of bread?

Can you sleep on a rolling yacht, standing watches: 4 hours-on 8 hours-off, on passages?

Can you live, if the only bath is the salty water of a tropical lagoon?

Can you live with salty hair?

Can you live with broken fingernails and blisters on your hands, because of rope pulling?

Can you live, when going ashore in the dinghy, involves jumping into the surf and arriving wet?

Can you be happy with 3 people in a small room on rainy days, with just a book or a game of chess?

Will you cry, when the skipper "swears" at you?

Can you make your own fun when there is nothing much happening?

Are you a nice person and do you enjoy other good people and share life with?

Can I trust you to go ashore into a native village and trade Western goods for fresh produce?

Do you like snorkeling in crystal clear tropical water?

Do you think, you could enjoy a tropical sunset, on an atol, with a rum and coconut milk in the hand?

Can you go to bed at dusk get up at dawn and have a swim before breakfast?

If some of the above don't suit you, do you think you can adapt?

If it all sounds too hard....... then it probably is.
