The name "crew" is yachtie talk for passenger, as taking 'real' passengers involves a hell of a lot of red tape at great expense, in just about any country. Hence you sign on as crew.
This arrangement keeps everybody happy.... The government is happy in it's ignorance, you're happy with a cheap holiday and we're happy, cause you help us financially to run the boat.
Crew have their own twin-share cabin (two single bunks).
Any reasonably fit and healthy persons between, 20 and what ever are invited to join.
