| June 5, 2006 I have been trying to update for a while now. First there are three new paintings now on display in Rome. Jenny is in a show titled Damien Hirst, David Salle, Jenny Saville at the Bilotti Chapel. The three paintings are actually a tryptych which reflects on the topic of human suffering through disease. Jenny also is showing her selfportrait from 1991 in Switerland and her rare pencil drawing selfportait in Glasgow. April 2006 For Australian fans of Jenny Saville, Self Portait: Renaissance to Contemporary has come to Sydney. JS's Juncture is in the show. It is at the Art Gallery of NSW from Febuary17-May 14, 2006. There is no other information at this time. January 29,2006 Another painting from Jenny's college days is coming up for Auction at Sotheby's Auction House. The Auction is taking place on Febuary 9, 2006 in London. The piece up for sale, is titled "Untitled (portrait)" 1990. It's estimate is 15,000-20,000 GBP. It was acquired dierectly from the artist in 1990. May 14, 2005 I found another old painting of Jenny's last night. The painting is titled "SELF PORTAIT" circa 1991 It was up for auction at Phillips de Pury & Company with an estimated value of $200,000-$300,000. It was bought in. The only other information I have, concerns the JS book that is coming out in November. I found out that is is being co-published by the Gagosian Gallery. I can't wait for that one to come out! I know I have been a little slow with up dates but there is just no time any more. Hopefully soon. March 5, 2005 Jenny Saville has a major exhibtion in Rome right now until May 1, 2005 at the Macro. The Macro has announced that she has done ten new drawings and six new paintings for the exhibit. I have seen the catalogue and they have three new paintings and one drawing illustrated in it but, only list five new paintings and none of the drwings. So I am confused as to what is actually new in the show. The Catalogue does have many of her works (Nearly 50) from the past including her Closed Contact work so if you are looking for the Territories, Closed Contact or Migrants Catalogues this would be a great book to pick up. If you look in the 2004-2005 Images you can see the works that I have located so far. If you have gone to the show or plan on going, here is a list of what they say is in the show. If you can make a note to let me know if this is true. Exhibited works: Fulcrum, Hyphen, Matrix, Host, Reverse, Suspension, Aperture, Passage, Torso 1, Torso 2, and Stare. I wish I could get to Rome to see this one! Also, Rizzoli is publishing Jenny Saville: Complete works, due out in November 2005. You can preorder it on Amazon and other websites. It's a 160 page, hardcover book and retails for $50. That is all that I know as of now. I still have lots to update on the site, but I have no time right now. So please bare with me while I slowly tackle this. As always please email me with any information concerning Jenny Saville. It really makes my life easier with others helping me find information. |
