*unrelated to Jenny Saville:  I will be in a group show called "Bacon" in Williamsburg, Brooklyn NY.
The opening is on August 23, so please come if you can.

-August 15-Just when I think there is nothing new I find a group show that Jenny Saville is in.  It is called 'The Physical World' at the Gagosian Gallery 980 Madison Ave. New York (uptown), NY 10021
It is up till August 30, 2002.  I will try to let you know what piece is in the show on Monday or Tuesday.

-August 14-I can not believe summer is almost over.  Unfortunately, there is nothing to report about Jenny Saville.  I have been searching all summer and I have found absolutely nothing.  The new school year is approaching fast and I am sure there will be an over whelming amount of email coming in this year.  Since I won't have as much time as I did in the past I am going to ask that if you do email me please don't just ask "for more information".  Ask for something specific (i.e. a specific article or a question pertaining to Jenny Saville is fine.) I no longer have access to the Internet so if you do write, please don't get upset if I don't write back that day.  It will probably take me a week or so to get back to you.  I have posted a complete Bibliography of Jenny Saville so you should be able to go to your library and find everything you need.  Don't be lazy and rely on the Internet so much.  Not everything you are looking for is on the Internet.

-May 16-
Figure 11.23 sold for $537,500 on May 14.  I believe that is the highest ever paid for a Saville at auction.  Good for her.  I only see the market of Saville sky rocketing in the future.  There is a waiting list a mile long at the Gagosian to get her work.  The only way to actually get a piece of hers is to buy it at auction.  Hence, the price will go up.  Good luck to all the Bidders out there (I am sure there are not many here).  Although, if someone out there wants to buy me a Saville piece please feel free to send it here.

-April 24-Jenny Saville's painting "
Figure 11.23" from 1997 is going up for auction on May 14 at Christies NY (search Under Jenny Saville to view the bid form).  Estimated Price is $150,000-$200,000.  We will have to wait and see what records she breaks this time.

-March 14-Jenny Saville is in a group show called "
Some Options in Realism" in Boston Massachusetts, USA at Harvard University in the Carpenter Center from March 11-April 14, 2002.  Thank you Denise for the information.

-March 13-There is a brief article in this month's (March 2002) ART News that talks about the market value of Jenny Saville's work.  In the article it also mentions that there are 'no plans for future exhibitions of new work because there is no work to show'.  I am a little disappointed to say the least.  The only new work I know of, is the portrait of the late art critic, David Sylvester for the National Portrait Gallery in London.  I am not sure if the painting is complete yet but as of January she had been working on it for 18 months.  Hopefully we may see some new work being produced in the near future.

-February 26-Jenny Saville's
Separates is on View at the Eyestorm Gallery in SOHO, New York at 60  Mercer Street.  The Show is called Women and it is up from February 6-March 10.

-February 25-I have been trying to do some long overdue updating.  I have added a lot of articles and books to the
publications section.  I think I added about 50 articles that you can now try to find for your studies.  There are a lot that I am trying to find myself.  If you have any of them I would love to read them. Get in touch with me!  Beyond that, I have just been looking for upcoming shows of Saville's.  If anyone has any information please send it so that I can post it for everyone else.  I found a link to the La Times interview Saville did during her stay in Los Angeles for her Closed Contact show.  Beyond that there is really no further news.

-February 04-Do you like bacon?  The food not the artist! Then Artist and Writters should submit your work
here as well as find more information to the Bacon Call, by May 30!

-January 31-Well it is back to school time.  The site is getting a lot of hits and I am getting a lot of emails about Jenny Saville.  The bad thing is that there is really no new news regarding Jenny Saville.  The only news I do have is that she is just finishing up her portrait of the late David Sylvester now.  She did an interview for the Los Angeles Times regarding her show Closed Contact with Glen Luchford and she was remarking on how different her portrait of Sylvester is compared to Giacometti's.  It was a pretty good interview.  I am unable to post it on the site so if you would like me to email it to you please let
me know.  Just ask for the "LA times interview".  By the way, The Catalogue for the Closed Contacts show is absolutely beautiful!  A bit pricey but giant glossy photos inside.  Go to the gagosian website to order the book.  I will try to scan some of the photos next time I have a chance.  Incase anyone knows of any shows of Saville's coming up.  Please write.  CRAIG
