March
14 - 18, 2008 As I said before, I have grown weary and fearful of
more rejection. However, stepping out of my comfort zone, I spend the weekend researching the
internet looking for people I have known for years and wanted to contact.
In all, I was able to locate and call 3 angels in my life. I spoke
with Evan, Pearl and Randy all of whom I had worked with over the years. We
spent lots of time reminding our- selves why we liked and cared so much for
one another. There was an exchange of emails and numbers with a promises
they
keep in touch ---------- and I will !
Their out-pouring of kindness was not what I expected. It warmed
my heart. They have known me nearly all my life and continue to care even now after
my life change. The door now open.....time will tell! |

March 23, 2008 No reply from my sister. I am not surprised. Shrug. It
is getting quite laughable and I'd rather be amused than hurt. She did
exactly what I expected....NOTHING. Still think it isn't very Christian
!However, my Easter was not a complete loss as I had a lengthy holiday talk
by phone with a long time friend. It was a good thing ! |

March 26, 2008
Received news regarding a fellow I had a relationship with and later
remained friends with has died. He was too young. The news also included
the information a long time pal had died unexpectedly. He also died much
too young. I learned of several others who have passed away; Drives the emotions
as it is a lot of loss at one time for anyone. I am however grateful to
have learned all this in a personal fashion "unlike" methods used by my
family to inform me of my mothers death....which was third party and
through my employer where they left a message. It's not like they did not
know where I was living at the time. I did not even know mom had been ill. Oh. And not forgetting
having read my nephews obituary online one year after his death. It didn't
make for closure. The family had my email but just didn't bother to use it
stating they did not know where I was. I've had the same personal email
for years no matter where I have lived. |

Lets change it up a
bit. I realize I have written about Insurance groups and government being
seemingly attached at
the hip. However I ran across some information I wish to share so please
indulge me.
It is 2008 and we all know our health care system and insurance, hospital
and pharmaceutical costs stink to high heaven. I know since I relocated
to another state I have had nothing but problems from the medical side
but have experienced more issues from the insurance and pharmaceutical
side of things. So I did a bit of reading and found a little blurb from
2006
(like anything has changed....right?).

Why
Is the Health Care System Broken?
America is facing a health care crisis. As of 2006, 47 million
U.S. residents
have no health insurance, and the numbers keep growing. That's 47 million
people who face bankruptcy if they get sickor who might avoid seeking
treatment altogether.
Meanwhile, insurance players are
making big, big profitsat the
expense of working families and individuals.
Who are the uninsured? More than eight in 10 uninsured come from
working
familiesnearly 70 percent from families with one or more full-time
worker.
More than 10 million children are uninsured today.
Who pays the cost of the uninsured? Working families pay the price
for our
broken health-care system. Families with health insurance pay premiums
that
are $922 higher each year to cover the health care costs of the
uninsured.
Taxpayers foot the bill at $21 billion a year when workers are forced to
turn
to government health care programs.
America's health care crisis hurts working families in the wallet.
Medical debt
is now the most common cause of bankruptcy. Workers who do have health
insurance now pay 68 percent more than they did in 2000. More and more
employers are choosing not to offer health insurance to their employees
at all.
Working people shouldn't have to "hustle" between work, family and
school,
trying to avoid getting sick. Working people shouldn't get pinched in the
"hustle" of hospitals and insurance companies, big pharmaceutical giants
and
doctors out to make a buck.

OK. So hospitals,
insurance companies, big pharmaceutical giants and
doctors are out to make big bucks. Numbers are higher now than two years
ago and we still await relevant governmental intervention. Like most American citizens it is a
very real hardship for the transgender community also. However
there are physicians out there trying to help make a difference for
the
uninsured.....not many but some. What truly disgusts me even more
is how children and our seniors are being kicked to the curb so
these money hungry groups can pad their pockets with our hard earned dollars.
Interesting point: my life partner had surgery. The insurance paid
their measly portion but within a four week period the hospital
wrote to say, "PAY UP NOW" OR BE TURNED IN TO
COLLECTIONS". Not
even back to the job yet and they want my partner to pay up or be
penalized by placing a very good credit status in jeopardy not to
mention forcing us in to a true financial crimp !...................Stupid isn't it ?
At this point even with insurance if one don't get'cha the others
will. I'm going to take a liberty here and say American people are
tired of the government keeping us small, humble, and needy.
We had
better pray a new government change will rescue us all......and
as if we all haven't enough to complicate life, there are political fractions who wish to screw us out of our
retirement and social security. The American people proved
they do have a voice. So lets
be heard and kick their silly asses
down the pike and out of town once and for all ! |
