The Matthew Shepard Foundation vision :
"To educate and enlighten others on the
importance of diversity, understanding,
compassion, acceptance and respect. Everyone
must participate in developing solutions to
problems that are rooted in ignorance and hatred."
Matthew was beaten because he was gay.

October 7, 1998 two men, Aaron McKinney and Russell Henderson, lead Matthew to a remote area east of Laramie where they demonstrated unimaginable acts of hate. Matthew was tied to a split-rail fence where he was beaten and left to die in the cold of the night. Almost 18 hours later he was found. Matthew died on October 12 at 12:53 am at a hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado with family at
his bedside. Please visit Matthew's Place for his story and more information.

The Worlds Aids Campaign

The World Aids Campaign (WAC) states:  it has been recognized as playing a unique role within civil society by supporting a strong social movement on AIDS that presses for promises to be kept. Starting in 2005 and through 2010, the WAC will work to promote accountability, uniting campaigners around a common campaigning effort, under the slogan :
Stop AIDS. Keep the Promise." The campaign will continue to galvanize civil society efforts, both at a national level, and among key international, constituency-based networks, to support the call and increase pressure to achieve universal access to HIV care, support, treatment and prevention.

 Awards

While awards may be said to be a way of linking to other sites to increase web site traffic, I do not take awards lightly. My site can be seen as controversial by some. To be acknowledged in this way means more than I can express. Those whose awards appear here were able to look beyond my site topic and form an understanding and appreciation for its content without prejudice. I thank you.

As Ever......
