 ARCHIVES PG. 2

JUNE 06, 2008 I saw this story and video today and it made me heartsick. I decided to include it in my archives because my story speaks to humanity and morals in a politically correct world. What happened in Hartford Connecticut clearly demonstrates how much we have distanced ourselves from one another. It also demonstrates how the American society humanity and morals have reached an all time low. The video which follows the documentation is not to be believed.  Take a look.

Anguish in Connecticut follows a chilling
hit-and-run

From the Associated Press
June 6, 2008
HARTFORD, CONN. -- A 78-year-old man is tossed like a rag doll in a hit-and-run and lies motionless on a busy street as car after car goes by. Pedestrians gawk but appear to do nothing. One driver stops briefly, then pulls back into traffic. A man on a scooter slowly circles the victim, then zips away. The chilling scene captured on video by a streetlight surveillance camera has touched off a round of soul-searching in Hartford. "We no longer have a moral compass," Hartford Police Chief Daryl Roberts said. He released the video Wednesday in hopes of making an arrest in the incident that left Angel Arce Torres in critical
condition. But Roberts backtracked Thursday. After initially saying he was unsure whether anyone called 911, he and other city officials appeared at a news conference in which they said that four people had dialed 911 within a minute of the accident, and that Torres received medical attention shortly after that. The hit-and-run took place in daylight last Friday about 5:45 p.m. in a working-class neighborhood near downtown in this city of 125,000. In the video, Torres, a retired forklift operator, walks in the two-way street just blocks from the state Capitol after buying milk at a grocery store. A tan Toyota and a dark Honda that is apparently chasing it veer across the center line. Torres is struck by the Honda; both cars dart down a side street. Nine cars pass Torres as a few people stare from the sidewalk. Some approach Torres, but no one gets closer than a couple of yards and no one attempts to stop or divert traffic. About a minute and a half later, a police cruiser arrives, responding to an unrelated call. "Like a dog they left him there," said a disgusted Jose Cordero, 37, who was with friends Thursday not far from where Torres was struck. One witness, Bryant Hayre, 37, told the Hartford Courant he didn't feel comfortable helping Torres, who he said was bleeding and conscious. "I'm not skilled enough when it comes to blood flowing or I would have helped him," Hayre said. The Rev. Henry Brown, a community activist, called it "one of the most despicable things I've seen by one human being to another. I don't understand the mind-set anymore. "Gov. M. Jodi Rell called the video "beyond chilling." The victim's son, Angel Arce begged the public for help in finding the driver.

My life experience taught me about peoples disregard for others. However, this video and story shows us the blatant indifference which people today often demonstrate toward their fellowman.  Michael Moore might say, "Sicko". I agree

My response to those of this nature is:
For all of you who talk about me and censor me,
judge me and what I say, and believe you know me,
THANKS FOR MAKING ME THE CENTER OF YOUR WORLD !
You do not know me at all.
You only know the misconception of your memories.
There-in-lies "THE GREAT DIVIDE".

"I Think It's Going To Rain Today"

Performed by a plethora of talented vocalists like in this beautifully executed rendition.
This sad but true song was written and initially performed by Randy Newman.

As for the others I initially contacted, not an email or a phone call from anyone. I still hope to hear from them. I am sure they are as busy with life as I am and I of course understand that. However I have no great expectation for the type of friendships with them as we once had. W. Somerset Maugham was all so very wise.

Now on a positive note, I want to mention my lady friend, Wendy. We lost touch but for several years now we have been trying to contact one another without success. She spends her life traveling as well as changing seasonal residence living north in the summer and south in the winter. Then she turned off her home phone and got a cell phone. I finally got the number but could never reach her (later she said the signal is not always good). One day a week ago now I finally reached her. Now this woman never changed her mind about me when I transitioned and remained loyal to the point of calling me following my GRS to send well wishes congrats and so on. We spoke for over an hour and then 2 days later she called and we talked for nearly four hours. We talked old times, in-between times and today times. Refreshing ! Plans are in the making for a Fall visit and I can't wait to see her even though there is the great divide.

Recently I telephoned my sister to say hi. I left a message to the effect, "I am leaving the door and communication open so the balls in your court". She called with the first birthday wish received from family in 12 years and we have chatted since. Maybe that will be all there will ever be as I do not believe she wants to see me ever again. Some times compromise is
all we have.
