What is it?
Well the time between Naruto and Naruto 2 is called time-skip. This streach of time is not shown in the series. Well you can put it this way....the time starting at the end of Naruto to the begining of Naruto 2.
Naruto and Naruto 2??
Yes. To make things easier, remember this event- Jiraya takes Naruto with his for a two and a half year training. The time before that event is Naruto and the time after that is called Naruto 2. Anime has still not reached Naruto 2. But it has completed airing Naruto in Japan. Naruto 2 in Japan will start from feb 2007 in anime.
Rank Changes
These are the rank changes that took place during the timeskip. The rookie nine and friends have become Chunnins except Naruto and Sasuke. Neji, Temari and Kankuro have become Jounins. Garra has become the Kazekage.
