Yes thats right. Before Naruto 2 began, Kakashi Gaiden was published. It basically shows us about Kakashi's past.
So what happens?
Kakashi's other team mates were Uchiha Obito and a medical nin named Rin. Obito had a crush on Rin and Rin had a crush on Kakashi. Their Jounin sensei was the Fourth himself. Kakashi had just become a jounnin. Obito is careless and arrives in the scene very late. Yondiame and Rin had given Kakashi gifts on being promoted. Obito had completly forgot that and had got nothing for Kakashi. They always hated each other and kept on fighting.
During that time, there was a war between Konoha and the rock village. Their mission was to attack the enemy base. As they arrive there Yon tells them to keep their eyes open and he appoints Kakashi as the teams leader. Kakashi wanted to try out his new jutsu. He sits down, grabs his right hand and creats a chidori. His rushes forward attacking all enemies before him.
