This site provides some information about filler episodes.
What are they?
The anime follows the story in manga. That means manga is way ahead of anime. The problem is that one manga chapter contains only about 19-21 pages. And an episode covers 3-4 chapters. So a time will come when the anime will get ahead
of the manga.
So what they did is that after episode no.134, all the episodes had nothing to do with manga and had an seperate story. These are all crap episodes and are called fillers.
Whats the point?
They are just creating a gap between the anime and manga.
How many are there and when will it end?
The fillers are driving almost everyone crazy. There are more than 70 filler episodes. The good news is THE FILLERS WILL END SOMETIME IN FEB 2007.
