Northland C.O.R.E. Policies

  1. Mission:
    To be a source of information for home educators in the Twin Ports and surrounding areas.
  2. Goals:

    All home educators are welcome to participate in C.O.R.E. meetings or events regardless of methods or philosophies of homeschooling. Non-members are welcome at all C.O.R.E. events.

  3. Membership:
    Membership is offered to all who are interested in homeschooling. The membership fee is $12 for one year, which includes 8 issues of The Bulletin Board (newsletter), reduced admission to the Home Educators Conference, and a vote in officer elections.
  4. Officers:
    Board:

    Nominations will be accepted until April 30th for unfilled offices. Elections will take place at the Annual Members� meeting in May. Officer terms begin on June 1st and are for one year.

  5. Board Meetings:
    Board meetings are held approximately 6 - 7 times a year (suggested schedule: June, August, October, January, February, March, and April). The purpose of these meetings will be to discuss and plan events, as well as to receive updates on C.O.R.E. business.
  6. Budget:
    A proposed budget for the year will be presented by the officers to the membership group in May at the Annual meeting.
  7. Policy Changes:
    Changes or additions to the policies will be voted on by the general membership at the Annual meeting and requires an affirmative vote of 2/3�s of those present and voting to approve the change.
