Focus of Course

Drawing from observation of nature, architecture, works of art and daylife situations while traveling from one place to the other, or in the visited cities. Analysis of space : distances, depth, and planes… Choice of the subject and its development… The structure and dynamism of composition… Light as subject… Learning about perspective through observation… etc.

Special drawing excursions are planned to typical places, i.e. in old quarters of the XIIth and XIIIth Centuries, or in the surrounding countryside overlooking Umbria’s graceful landscape. Special trips are made to the more important towns of Rome and Florence to study their history and draw from their beauties. The village of Acquapendente and the lake and town of Bolsena plus all the cities around offer many eye-catching areas and beautiful perspectives to stimulate the imagination and creativity.

Meals

The breakfast «colazione» and lunch «pranzo» are included in the total price and are very good and abundant. For dinner, there are different kinds of restaurants downtown (5 min. walk): the bar (sandwich and glass of wine, $5), the trattoria (entree, pasta and wine, $20), and the ristorante for a more «elegante» meal ($35 and up). For the smaller budget you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, cheese and salami at the «supermercato» and enjoy a picnic meal in the garden.
