| The Rosary is called the Psalter of Mary because all fifteen of its mysteries, with their 150 Aves, corrospond to the number of the psalms. praying all fifteen decades at once is called the Dominican Rosary. The Rosary is the most well-known and used form of chaplet (a devotion using beads, from the French word meaning "crown" or "wreath"). There are other chaplets, such as those in honor of St. Bridget of Sweden and in honor of Mary, the Immaculate Conception. The Rosary grew out of the early monks who prayed all 150 psalms at once. When the laity wanted to do they same they were told to pray 150 Ave Marias, and a rope with a cord was used to keep an accurate count. To pray the Rosary, one needs to clear his heart and his mind and devotely pray. Start with the Sign of the Cross then Apostles Creed is said while clutching the Crucifix at the bottom of the beads. Next the Lord's prayer, then three Hail Mary's followed by the Doxology or the Glory be. A Mystery of the Rosary is said. (Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, Luminous) followed by the Lord's prayer. Ten Hail Mary's. Glory Be. (repeat this the last three prayers 4 more times or untill the mysteries are finished) The Fatima invocation (recommended by Mary to the Children at Fatima in 1917) is sometimes recited between groups of 10 Hail Mary's, "Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins and save us from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to heaven, especially those who are in most need of thy mercy." |

| Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To you we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to you we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this land of exile. Turn then most, gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us; lead us home at last and show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus: O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

When the Pope miraculously became well again, he attributed his healing to the power of the Rosary and Mary's intervention with God. In Nagasaki in 1945, when the atomic bomb was dropped.
