And the Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us, and we saw His glory, the glory as of the Father's only Son, full of grace and truth

Long Ago, in a small town in Judea, Province of Rome, in a remote village called Bethlehem, a child was born of a virgin and her fiance`. From these humble beginnings came , quite possibly, the Greatest Man ever to walk the face of the earth. He accomplished more in his lifetime than all others combined. He was crucified, died a human death- decended into the underworld, and then rose again...three days later. But even though 1/3 of the world follows this man's reign as King of the Universe we know very little about his actual histoical life.
We know, for example, that he was born sometime between 1 BC and 3 AD, according to the Gospel account of the census of Agustus Ceasar in which the entire world (the Roman Empire) was enrolled.

People of the Book! Exceed not the limits in the matter of your relligion and say not of Allah anything but the truth. Indeed, the Messiah Jesus son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and the fulfilment of glad tidings which he conveyed to Mary and a mercy from Him. So, veleive in Allah and His messengers and say not: "There are three gods". Desist, it will be the better for you. Indeed Allah is the only One God. His holiness brooks not that he should have a Son. To Him belongs whatever is in the Heavens and whatever is in the Earth. Sufficent is Allah as a Guardian.
Yet, even though we know little about the actual man of Christ we, as Christians, know more about Him and his Father in Heaven than any other religion of the world.  The Muslims claim Him as simply a prophet of Allah, but as we will see (through the articles) this man was not only the Son of God (as God, the Father, himself proclaimed) but God Incarnate, that is God in human form, the second part of the Holy Trinity of Persons.  Many claim though that he was nothing more than a man that was killed and never rose. (or in the case of the Muslims, he merely "fainted" on the cross. But we all know thats just plain DUMB, to use laymans terms) Through his death we all are saved, and through his passion and death, the weight of all the sins of humanity (past- present- future) are forgiven.  And for that we love the Lord Jesus more than anything else, earthly pleasure is no longer ours to have. Everything is His.
Those who do not follow the will of Jesus Christ, His Father in Heaven, and the Paraclete (the Holy Spirit) are doomed to eternal torment, not in the fires of hell, but in the loneliness of hell. For pain after death is only the absense of God's presence. But God loves us more than anything and it displeases him when we turn away, and sin. But always remember, like a Hen gathers Her chicks, so does the Lord call us. He is truly the Good Shepard, who came for all people so that we might have eternal life through Him.
There is no other religion persecuted like the Christians are persecuted. Even with each other. The Great Schism (that is when Martin Luther herded almost half of the flock away in the 15th century) has divided an allready divided people into now THREE sepporate sects of Christianity- The Protestants (sons of Martin Luther) The Orthodox (decendants of the Canstantinople Church) and the Catholics ( the Original Christians in the line of Saint Peter) Only through one of these can you be saved. !
For centuries martyrs have spilled their blood for the sake of Jesus Christ and we are all called to do that for Him. He will reward us in heaven if we do:
"Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you [falsely] because of Me. Rejoice and be glad! For your reward will be great in Heaven. Thus they persecuted the prophets who came before you." (Mattew 5:11-12) And the bible is full of verses glorifying the martyrs.
Some people also claim that Jesus was the Messiah, but not God, this is a contradiction as the Bible (in the Old Testament, the T'nakh) explains in the book of Isaiah:
"For a Child is born to us, a Son is given us, upon HIs shoulder dominion rests. They name his Wonder- Counselor, God- Hero, Father- Forever, Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:5) SInce the Qur'an confesses that Jesus is the Messiah and this "Prophet of Islam" confesses that the Messiah is God, Jesus is God. Jesus is the fulfilment of ALL the Old Testament (T'nakh) prophisies. In Chapter 5 verses 1-7 of Isaiah (the Messiah's Prophet) tells the story of a wine maker and his vineyard, which in essence is the same parable Jesus told in Matthew Chapter 21 Verses 33-40. And the list of prophisies comes true, one after the other, Please take a look at these articles that we have written about the One Faith.
