COURT GRACES FOR YOUTHS
Court is scary, court is fun, court has rules for “everyone”!  Instructor teaches children the skills to make Court fun for them and everybody around them. Class will include the following: curtseys, bowing and when to do it, how to process up when called into court with a group, how to approach the thrones when called up by yourself. Open discussion about courtly behavior, such as appropriate toys, food & drink for events and just why a mug is better than a soda can, how to behave during court and most fun of all, discussion about some titles: Just what do you say to a pointy hat?

Prerequisite:  Please wear appropriate SCA garb: tunics or dresses.  It would be good for boys to have a tam or other suitable/period hat.

HERALDRY FOR YOUTHS
Learn the basics of heraldry!  Design your own device!  Templates and sample charges to copy / trace, paper and wooden shield blanks, and coloring materials will be provided by the instructor.

DROP SPINDLE FOR YOUTHS
This course covers the basics of wool fiber combing and spinning.  Each student will get to keep their own drop spindle and wool.  Discussion of the history of spinning and the use of fiber in ancient cultures.

PORTABLE PERIOD GAMES
Introduction to four period board games.  Children will recieve a pouch containing cloth game boards and wooden game pieces.  First half hour will be instruction, and the second half hour will be free play of games.
