all good things must come to an end.....ah, i remember my first day at odell... hah. little whippersnapper, all thinking i could do it all, though i knew nothing of this "ADT" add-on which was to impair (i mean improve!!) my drawing for the next 15 and a half months. and i walked uphill both ways to my cubicle. in my bare feet. through 6 feet of snow, year round.
i brought in cereal, ice cream, and fruit for breakfast --which was very well received once people got over the idea of mixing the media (except angela, who does this regularly with yogurt...we speak the same language). it may catch on for future events. in any case, i left the leftovers there (what am i going to do with a freezer full of dairy???) for the next day's breakfast without me. sharon and tommy seemed to best enjoy the party blowers also provided on the table....sillies...
the gang took me out to lunch at olive garden, in a valiant attempt to fit into our prescribed 60 minute lunchtime, and we did end up reasonably close. sort of. (an hour and a half?) of course, charmaine and i held a silent competition for who enjoyed her salad and breadsticks most (she won....again). it's hard to compete with someone who orderes extra alfredo for her breadsticks.
ah yes, and tommy prepared a special poster of me in honor of the occasion. it's an entertainment our office eagerly receives, and tommy rations out his hilarity effectively...
at the end of the day we took pictures (after i remembered i had the camera with me) and promised to take better ones when i return for lisa's bridal shower on the 24th. jeff and dennis helped me with my bags (here's you hat, what's your hurry?!) of stuff from my desk...mostly music and books.... and i drove home....via the car wash (what better way to start a new chapter all clean and ready?) |
